offering fee-for-service canine DNA testing. In addition, Dr.
Johnson’s laboratory has provided archived DNA samples to
researchers around the world. In recent years, much of this effort
has been done in conjunction with the Orthopedic Foundation for
Animals, a not-for-profit organization. The Dr. E. A. (Al) Corley
OFA Endowed Program was established to ensure that these efforts
would continue after Dr. Johnson’s anticipated retirement. We are
looking to hire a Director for the Endowed Program who has a
passion to conduct state-of-the-art canine molecular genetic
research and an interest in supervising the associated
activities.

Minimum Qualifications

currently provides imaging studies that utilize radiography,
computed tomography, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging,
scintigraphy, and positron emission tomography.
The position description depends upon the qualifications of the
successful applicant. For individuals in the tenure-track, the
faculty member will be expected to develop a successful research
program that compliments research performed by other departmental,
college, or university faculty. A tenure-track faculty member will
also be expected to participate actively in clinical and teaching
responsibilities of the radiology section. Section or departmental
service may also be a part of the position description.
An individual in a nontenure-track position will be expected to
concentrate his/her activities in the areas of clinical service and
teaching. Scholarly activity is also expected and may include
collaborative research activities with other faculty, as is
participation in the training of graduate students and house
officers. Section or departmental administrative service may also
be a part of the position description.
The position is a 0.75-1.0 FTE/12-month position. Those who elect a
0.75 FTE position will be afforded significant time for external
consultation.
Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree; and,
• Diplomate status or eligibility for certification by the
American College of Veterinary Radiology, European College of
Veterinary Radiology, or completion of radiation oncology residency
training by start date.
Candidates will be assessed based upon educational and professional
achievement. Communication skills, experience working effectively
in diverse environments and letters of reference will all be
considered in selection of a candidate. Potential for candidate to
work within the framework of the diagnostic radiology service will

Columbia, Mo., is known as an ideal college town, combining

Our Campus and Our Community
MU’s Veterinary Health Center is a state-of-the-art teaching and
medical services facility for companion animals as well as
livestock. Columbia is an ideal location for such a teaching
hospital with a robust small animal case load. Missouri is a strong
