POSITION OVERVIEW
Audio Visual Services provides audio and presentation technology support for non-classroom college events, meetings, conferences and cultural programs for faculty, staff, and students and outside organizations.

GENERAL DUTIES
Under supervision, Broadcast Associates perform technical work in a broadcasting operation and/or production environment. Such duties include designing, installing, operating, maintaining and/or modifying all types of broadcast equipment and related software.
There are three Assignment Levels for Broadcast Associate (Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3). All personnel perform related work.

Reporting to the Academic Director, Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship, the Regional Director Midtown Manhattan Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will be primarily responsible for the following:

POSITION DETAILS
Reporting to the Academic Director, Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship, the Regional Director Midtown Manhattan Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will be primarily responsible for the following:
-Day to day management of an SBDC Regional Center, which entails both strategic planning and oversight of services and effective utilization of staff for the purposes of counseling and training clients who are presently or prospectively engaged in small business enterprise.
-Administration of the fiscal component of the program, which entails both adhering to campus, SBDC Lead Center, State, Federal and host fiscal policies (all of which are subject to internal, State and Federal audit) and balancing fiscal support in relation to demonstrated program needs in order to maximize resources.
-Program promotion, which entails championing the SBDC with audiences and sponsors that have varied knowledge of and expertise in small business enterprise in a variety of professional settings (such as press conferences, news articles and other media recorded events).
Additional duties and responsibilities of the SBDC Director will also include (though are not limited to) the following:
-Support the overall mission of Field Center by participating in strategic and tactical initiatives as well as partnering with other Field Center Divisions.
-Overall management of the SBDC Regional Center, effective provision of services to local small businesses, and program and fiscal compliance with New York State, State University, host institution, and SBA requirements.
-Supervise all staff functions including assigning appropriate tasks, conducting Internal staff meetings, identifying staff training activities, and insuring the general quality and timeliness of staff activities by reviewing individual casework and feedback from assisted clients.
-Administer all fiscal controls of the program including developing budgets for Campus and SBDC Lead Center Office review, monitoring expenditure activities as they relate to budgets, advising campus fiscal staff of program financial elements, developing and monitoring internal fiscal control systems, and adhering to SBDC Lead Center Office financial guidelines.
-Interact with and provide information for campus administration with respect to budget, expenditure plans, personnel administration, facilities utilization and similar topics.
-Supervise the development of appropriate program and financial reports in accordance with campus and SBDC Lead Center guidelines.
-Maintain a client counseling caseload and provide support assistance to staff in their counseling needs.
-Identify and implement program initiatives in response to SBDC Lead Center Office, Campus, and private sector identification.
-Initiate and maintain contact with the business community as well as other related public and private entities to promote program services and to elicit funding support to broaden and enhance outreach services. Establish and interface with advisory groups; develop printed research for distribution; participate in public speaking; and sponsor or co-sponsor appropriate training events, seminars and conferences in addition to personal visits.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in the area of public administration, management, finance or a business-related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Six years’ experience in private sector business, preferably two of which are in a managerial capacity.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. in Translation and Interpreting Studies in Spanish or in a related discipline, such as Applied Linguistics in Spanish with a focus in translation and interpreting, from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent non-U.S. institution by date of appointment. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English.
Ability to successfully teach Spanish to English and English to Spanish translation and interpreting courses at all levels of undergraduate instruction. Demonstrated scholarship or research achievement. Responsibilities will include working collaboratively with colleagues, the department, and the College. The successful candidate may also be expected to teach Spanish language courses at all levels of instruction.
Teaching, service and publication are required. Teaching duties include a 3/3 course load (six courses per year) of undergraduate courses, but beginning tenure-track appointments receive a significant course reduction while working toward tenure.Candidates are expected to bring enthusiasm and demonstrated commitment to teaching, as well as a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following qualifications: Ability to teach computer-assisted translation (CAT) courses and translation and interpreting online/hybrid courses. Experience teaching Spanish heritage learners. Experience using innovative teaching methods and/or curricular design to effectively engage a diverse student body. Experience and interest in developing internships, community outreach, service learning and study abroad opportunities.
COMPENSATION
Salary commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience within the range of $79,188- $99,532.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. in Translation and Interpreting Studies in Spanish or in a related discipline, such as Applied Linguistics in Spanish with a focus in translation and interpreting, from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent non-U.S. institution by date of appointment. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English.
Ability to successfully teach Spanish to English and English to Spanish translation and interpreting courses at all levels of undergraduate instruction. Demonstrated scholarship or research achievement. Responsibilities will include working collaboratively with colleagues, the department, and the College. The successful candidate may also be expected to teach Spanish language courses at all levels of instruction.
Teaching, service and publication are required. Teaching duties include a 3/3 course load (six courses per year) of undergraduate courses, but beginning tenure-track appointments receive a significant course reduction while working toward tenure.Candidates are expected to bring enthusiasm and demonstrated commitment to teaching, as well as a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following qualifications: Ability to teach computer-assisted translation (CAT) courses and translation and interpreting online/hybrid courses. Experience teaching Spanish heritage learners. Experience using innovative teaching methods and/or curricular design to effectively engage a diverse student body. Experience and interest in developing internships, community outreach, service learning and study abroad opportunities.

Salary commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience within the range of $79,188- $99,532.

A minimum of 5 years of professional advertising agency, corporate, marketing or related experience.
Successful industry track record with emphasis on advertising management, strategic planning and
creative executions. Presentation experience and a working knowledge 0f digital advertising
applications/analytics/measurement. Active membership in related industry associations. College
teaching experience. Management and leadership skills as this post will likely expand to include
Advertising/PR Program Director responsibilities.
Vaccine Requirement:
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Health Plan Coverage for Employees Hired on or after October 1, 2022 City of New York employees and employees of Participating Employers and their eligible dependents hired on or after October 1, 2022 will only be eligible to enroll in the EmblemHealth HIP HMO Preferred Plan and must remain in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan for the first year (365 days) of employment.
After 365 days of employment, the employee will have the option of either remaining in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan or selecting a different health plan within 30 days before the end of the 365th day period.
If a new health plan is selected, the new plan will be effective on the 366th day.
Only after the 365th day can the employee participate in any Annual Fall Transfer Period. An employee who needs to request an exemption from the required enrollment in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan can do so by submitting a HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form to EmblemHealth. An employee, or eligible dependent, must meet certain criteria and the request must be approved by EmblemHealth before the exemption is granted. The HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form and HIP service area are available on the EmblemHealth website.
