Davenport University invites qualified individuals to apply for an opening for an adjunct instructor in our Lansing Michigan campus. The discipline is introductory networking. Classes will be held on our campus and will teach advanced high school juniors and seniors. This special program is a partnership between the university and surrounding K-12 school districts. Class sessions begin promptly at 7:25 AM and end a 9:25 AM, twice a week. Experience teaching Eaton RESA courses is a plus, although not a requirement. The course format is lecture and hands-on experience using both the TestOut! learning platform and a traditional textbook. Instructors must be proficient with either Cisco or Microsoft networking, with networking certifications desired. Teaching experience is desired, but not required. A Master's degree (or higher) in a computer networking discipline plus relevant experience is mandatory. SPECIFIC COURSE INFORMATION: Davenport University’s College of Technology invites qualified individuals to apply for multiple adjunct instructor positions in the field of computer science to teach either undergraduate or graduate courses at our Grand Rapids, Michigan main campus. Applicants must live in Western Michigan within a reasonable commuting distance. Applicants who do not live in Western MIchigan will not be considered. Undergraduate and graduate computer science subjects to be taught may include advanced programming (C++, C#, Java, assembly language, various scripting languages), computer vision, artificial intelligence, pattern recognition, machine learning, software engineering, data structures, algorithms, parallel and distributed systems, operating systems, theory of computation, and secure software analysis and design.
All applicants must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in computer science or computer information systems, with a doctorate preferred. Significant experience with multiple subjects listed above is greatly desired, although formal higher education teaching experience is not required. These positions are not for online delivery. SPECIFIC COURSE INFORMATION: Davenport University’s College of Technology invites qualified individuals to apply for multiple adjunct instructor positions in the field of computer science to teach either undergraduate or graduate courses at our Grand Rapids, Michigan main campus. Applicants must live in Western Michigan within a reasonable commuting distance. Applicants who do not live in Western MIchigan will not be considered. Undergraduate and graduate computer science subjects to be taught may include advanced programming (C++, C#, Java, assembly language, various scripting languages), computer vision, artificial intelligence, pattern recognition, machine learning, software engineering, data structures, algorithms, parallel and distributed systems, operating systems, theory of computation, and secure software analysis and design.
All applicants must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in computer science or computer information systems, with a doctorate preferred. Significant experience with multiple subjects listed above is greatly desired, although formal higher education teaching experience is not required. These positions are not for online delivery. The Role:
You will process refunds to student accounts while ensuring that transactions are performed in accordance with University and Federal Government guidelines. These responsibilities are performed in an ethical manner consistent with the University’s mission, vision, and values which include diversity, equity and inclusion.

Summary:
You will support the mission of Davenport University through the continuous development and implementation of “best in class” human resources practices, programs, and services. In addition, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the University’s diversity and inclusion strategy. Your areas of responsibility will include the strategic leadership and oversight of talent acquisition and retention, HR business partnerships, employee relations, total compensation and benefits administration, position classification and structure, organizational design, wellness, student employment, and all other talent related projects, initiatives, and systems. These responsibilities are performed in an ethical manner consistent with the University’s mission, vision and cultural values.
You Will:
Human Resources Leadership:
• Advises the Executive Vice President for Quality and Effectiveness on human resource issues.
• Plan, guide, and advise the President on diversity, equity, and inclusion matters.
• Provide day-to-day leadership for the HR Team and develop strategies to support and advise the Leadership Team and the University in the areas of workforce planning, recruiting, and career development.
• Continually develop, communicate, and implement progressive human resources policies, procedures, processes, programs, and initiatives.
• Provide oversight of the development of talent and acquisition and retention strategies to encourage applicants of all backgrounds to be equally assessed, hired, and developed to full potential and performance.
• Evaluate and implement executive benefit and compensation programs including deferred compensation and executive life insurance coverage. Conduct or arrange for a periodic compensation study for executive compensation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations regarding employment practices and employee relations.
• Develop, and implement progressive benefit and total compensation programs to provide motivation, rewards, and incentives for effective performance. Provide programs that develop partnerships with the employees for the short and long-range health and welfare protection of the employees.
Chief Diversity Officer:
• Research diversity issues, keep abreast of trends in diversity and inclusion, evaluate the University’s programs and recommend new policies or changes in policies and programs across campuses and divisions, as appropriate.
• Collaborate with university stakeholders to assess barriers and create strategies to recruit and maintain a diverse workforce.
• Partner with the Office of Performance Excellence to design diversity, equity, and inclusion training programs that strengthen awareness, build capabilities, and promote a climate of belonging.
• In collaboration with a DEI council and other internal partners, develop, coordinate, and deliver cultural engagement events, programs, and training.
• Serve as a liaison between the university and external diversity organizations and community action groups.
Both:
• Continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries, and markets.
• Manage budgets with a commitment to fiscal responsibility.
• Serve as a member of the President’s cabinet as well as serve on other University committees as needed.
• Prepares reports as needed.
• Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC and national affiliations associated with athletics or other role-specific regulations.
• Demonstrate and support the University’s mission, vision, and values.
• Provides GREAT customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline required, while a Master’s Degree preferred.
• A minimum of ten years of experience in progressively challenging human resources leadership positions.
• Experienced strategic, forward-thinking, creative leader with high ethical standards and demonstrated sound judgment.
• Minimum of three to five years of experience working with diversity/inclusionary programs and/or initiatives required, experience in higher education preferred.
• Ability to set short and long-range goals with action steps for accomplishing results.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment, spirit of cooperation, and positive reactions to change and conflict resolution.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, both written and oral which transcend diverse audiences.
• Experience working with remote leaders, employees, and partners.
• Demonstrated motivational and problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the University.

REPORTS TO: Executive Vice President for Quality & Effectiveness
SALARY: $120,000
Summary:
You will support the mission of Davenport University through the continuous development and implementation of “best in class” human resources practices, programs, and services. In addition, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the University’s diversity and inclusion strategy. Your areas of responsibility will include the strategic leadership and oversight of talent acquisition and retention, HR business partnerships, employee relations, total compensation and benefits administration, position classification and structure, organizational design, wellness, student employment, and all other talent related projects, initiatives, and systems. These responsibilities are performed in an ethical manner consistent with the University’s mission, vision and cultural values.
You Will:
Human Resources Leadership:
• Advises the Executive Vice President for Quality and Effectiveness on human resource issues.
• Plan, guide, and advise the President on diversity, equity, and inclusion matters.
• Provide day-to-day leadership for the HR Team and develop strategies to support and advise the Leadership Team and the University in the areas of workforce planning, recruiting, and career development.
• Continually develop, communicate, and implement progressive human resources policies, procedures, processes, programs, and initiatives.
• Provide oversight of the development of talent and acquisition and retention strategies to encourage applicants of all backgrounds to be equally assessed, hired, and developed to full potential and performance.
• Evaluate and implement executive benefit and compensation programs including deferred compensation and executive life insurance coverage. Conduct or arrange for a periodic compensation study for executive compensation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations regarding employment practices and employee relations.
• Develop, and implement progressive benefit and total compensation programs to provide motivation, rewards, and incentives for effective performance. Provide programs that develop partnerships with the employees for the short and long-range health and welfare protection of the employees.
Chief Diversity Officer:
• Research diversity issues, keep abreast of trends in diversity and inclusion, evaluate the University’s programs and recommend new policies or changes in policies and programs across campuses and divisions, as appropriate.
• Collaborate with university stakeholders to assess barriers and create strategies to recruit and maintain a diverse workforce.
• Partner with the Office of Performance Excellence to design diversity, equity, and inclusion training programs that strengthen awareness, build capabilities, and promote a climate of belonging.
• In collaboration with a DEI council and other internal partners, develop, coordinate, and deliver cultural engagement events, programs, and training.
• Serve as a liaison between the university and external diversity organizations and community action groups.
Both:
• Continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries, and markets.
• Manage budgets with a commitment to fiscal responsibility.
• Serve as a member of the President’s cabinet as well as serve on other University committees as needed.
• Prepares reports as needed.
• Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC and national affiliations associated with athletics or other role-specific regulations.
• Demonstrate and support the University’s mission, vision, and values.
• Provides GREAT customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers.
• Demonstrate and promote the University Cultural Values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline required, while a Master’s Degree preferred.
• A minimum of ten years of experience in progressively challenging human resources leadership positions.
• Experienced strategic, forward-thinking, creative leader with high ethical standards and demonstrated sound judgment.
• Minimum of three to five years of experience working with diversity/inclusionary programs and/or initiatives required, experience in higher education preferred.
• Ability to set short and long-range goals with action steps for accomplishing results.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment, spirit of cooperation, and positive reactions to change and conflict resolution.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, both written and oral which transcend diverse audiences.
• Experience working with remote leaders, employees, and partners.
• Demonstrated motivational and problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the University.
• Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems.
• Must be able to work an irregular schedule including evenings or other additional hours during peak times or as required.
