This position supports the operations process in providing and maintaining service to new and existing customers by learning a working knowledge of computer system, tools, equipment, and material. The position will be learning the day-to-day operations and specifications of the distribution system. In addition to normal work, position must be available to be on-call with a more experienced person as required and to work all hours as needed, day or night, weekends or holidays, to perform work required during planned outages or emergency situations (24/7). The position must learn to perform all duties in a safe manner and adhere to all Company safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities
• Ability to construct and maintain the distribution system
• Demonstrate a proficient understanding of overhead and underground insulate and isolate principles
• Familiar with and understand the electrical distribution system by completing the Line and Service Training modules
• Know, adhere to, and promote personal and work group safety practices to prevent accidents and injuries
• Develop positive and respectful working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
• Maintain accurate records and files
• Support the company's goals and represent the company positively and professionally
Basic/Required Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid class A commercial driver’s license (CDL)
• Proficient with tools, equipment, and vehicles necessary to perform line and service work.
• Experienced climber
• Experience working on secondary voltage as a lone worker
• Exposure to work within MAD of single phase primary voltage
• Know, adhere to, and demonstrate leadership in promoting personal and work group safety practices to prevent accidents and injuries.
Desired Qualifications
• Minimum of four (4) years of overhead and underground distribution line experience: demonstrated proficiency in constructing, maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting the distribution system, and to ensure public safety and customer satisfaction
• Exposure to work within MAD of three phase primary voltage
• Experience working with customers
• Proficient in using a work management system
• Clear written and oral communication skills
• Experience in leading and mentoring less experienced employees in all aspects of their jobs
Working Conditions
• Work schedule requires working various shifts as business needs arise
• Position has on-call responsibilities as scheduled and generally available at other times as needed (24/7), demonstrate the ability to work independently, and to work all hours as needed, day or night, weekends or holidays, and in all weather conditions to perform work required during planned and emergency outages
• Requires ability to travel and stay overnight to various locations and work extended hours to assist in major storm restoration
• Subject to confined spaces (manholes, vaults, etc.)
• Field Mobility Classification – Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. However, field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location.

• Ability to successfully complete Mid-Level Skills Assessment Test (MSAT).
• Ability to attend various training classes, meet progression requirements and successfully complete a progression assessment qualification’ (PAQ).

• This position has a residency requirement. You must reside within 40 minutes of the assigned operations site. In order to meet with aforementioned position requirement, you will be required to relocate from your current residence within 12 months of your start date. Relocation will be entirely at your own expense.
• This position contains a weight restriction of 275 pounds as an essential function of the job. The purpose of this restriction is to ensure that all weight rated equipment is used in an appropriate and safe manner within maximum allowed weight loading. You must maintain this weight restriction throughout your employment as a line worker.
• Ability to stand a minimum of 5-6 hours; may be on ground, in a bucket on a line truck, or at the top of a distribution pole
• Ability to sit for a minimum of 2-3 hours; may be driving a truck or sitting in a manhole or an underground vault
• Ability to move frequently to unload equipment and to install/maintain/repair equipment
• Ability to lift up to 76 pounds
• Ability to push/pull weights up to 116 pounds
• Ability to carry up to 90 pounds
• Ability to frequently climb or use authorized equipment to reach various heights and breadths

Job Summary:
The Gas Work Coordinator manages operational planning and coordination for O&M, Measurement, and System Integrity, including assigning and managing work performed by Contractors. The Scheduling Work Coordinator will also receive and handle calls that require research and follow up and must use judgment and problem-solving skills to resolve issues in a timely manner. This position exists within the Work Management department to perform prerequisite tasks to support the scheduling of work for CFO Technicians, CFO Crews, System Integrity internal and Contractor resources. The Coordinator acts as the company designee for the region to interact with local, state, and federal officials regarding compliance with rules and regulations.
Responsibilities & Duties:
• Coordinate with local, state and federal government on pre-construction, repairs, locates, permits, and encroachment documents for O&M, Measurement, and System Integrity. Keep ARM current based on completed pre-work. Work with Ops Techs and Ops supervisors for jobs that require a more technical and deeper gas system knowledge.
• Assign and coordinate work for internal resources. This includes making changes in WA (work force availability) and assigning work to crews and individuals.
• Work with Scheduling & Operations Supervisors to resolve operational service issues and scheduled work orders.
• Communicate with company personnel and community resources (police, fire, medical, etc.) to ensure appropriate response is being taken.
• Assure all compliance dates are met. IE. Grade 2 leaks and re-checks
• Work with Resource Center inventory personnel in the timely ordering and delivery of materials and supplies.

Job Summary:
The Gas Work Coordinator manages operational planning and coordination for O&M, Measurement, and System Integrity, including assigning and managing work performed by Contractors. The Scheduling Work Coordinator will also receive and handle calls that require research and follow up and must use judgment and problem-solving skills to resolve issues in a timely manner. This position exists within the Work Management department to perform prerequisite tasks to support the scheduling of work for CFO Technicians, CFO Crews, System Integrity internal and Contractor resources. The Coordinator acts as the company designee for the region to interact with local, state, and federal officials regarding compliance with rules and regulations.
Responsibilities & Duties:
• Coordinate with local, state and federal government on pre-construction, repairs, locates, permits, and encroachment documents for O&M, Measurement, and System Integrity. Keep ARM current based on completed pre-work. Work with Ops Techs and Ops supervisors for jobs that require a more technical and deeper gas system knowledge.
• Assign and coordinate work for internal resources. This includes making changes in WA (work force availability) and assigning work to crews and individuals.
• Work with Scheduling & Operations Supervisors to resolve operational service issues and scheduled work orders.
• Communicate with company personnel and community resources (police, fire, medical, etc.) to ensure appropriate response is being taken.
• Assure all compliance dates are met. IE. Grade 2 leaks and re-checks
• Work with Resource Center inventory personnel in the timely ordering and delivery of materials and supplies.
Basic/Required Qualifications:
• High School/GED degree and three (3) or more years of related work experience

Depending upon the qualifications of the successful applicant, the hiring manager may elect to fill this position at a higher level within the job hierarchy.
This is the intermediate level of the Procurement classification hierarchy. Employees at this level solve more complex problems, with some areas of specialist, with general direction from Management. Manage the procurement of products and services that align with Business Unit requirements and standards. Incumbents are expected develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that are fairly complex and varied.
Responsibilities
• Provides advanced procurement services such as but not limited to expediting (managing and maintaining purchase orders and/or contracts with vendors), resolution of invoice mismatches, pricing, quantity, inventory, material transfer, logistic issues, support resolution to exceptions on terms and conditions with appropriate input from legal and other, utilize power advocate for bid events with limited direction by Management, etc. Promotes advanced procurement and generation of sustainable cost savings and inventory reduction savings.
• Provides advanced guidance to the business unit on procurement process: Best sourcing options materials management strategies including transfers, cost controls, and avoidance of procurement issues.
• Develops and improves supplier relationships and ensures compliance with supplier agreements to help realize value added services benefits. Acts as liaison between external suppliers and the Business Unit. Understands supplier capabilities, establishes relationships with suppliers and negotiates cost savings and inventory reductions.
• Demonstrates a strong sense of Business Unit and Supplier focus and cultivates Business Unit and Supplier relationships. For example, by providing customer service functions such as responding to customer inquiries and providing material status to support work schedules.
• Ensuring compliance with all related federal and state laws and regulations and Duke Energy business standards.
• Demonstrate advanced capabilities associated with analyzing and evaluating supplier performance
• Managing daily, monthly, and quarterly reports
Basic/Required Qualifications
Procurement Specialist
• Bachelors degree
• In addition to required education, minimum two (2) years relevant work experience
• In lieu of required degree, High School/GED and six (6) years relevant work experience or Associates degree and four (4) years relevant work experience
Associate Procurement Specialist
• Bachelors degree
• In lieu of required degree, High School/GED and four (4) years relevant work experience or Associates degree and two (2) years relevant work experience
