Minimum Qualifications
• Ph.D. preferred; Masters in GIS plus five years research or
professional experience or additional credentialing/licensure will

• Ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in GIS and
spatial analysis using the Esri product suite
• Flexibility to teach courses in all modalities (Masters &
Certificate –online; undergraduate –
day/night/online/in-person)
• Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, including extensions, and ArcGIS
Online
• Familiarity with other apps and Esri tools, such as Hub,
StoryMaps, ArcScene
• Familiarity with presenting location-based analytics using
intuitive and interactive data visualizations; remote sensing,
geoprocessing, applying analysis tools and applications to a
variety of disciplines; and cartographic skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of Python and/or Arcade.
• Subject matter expertise in a GIS specialty, e.g.,
environmental applications, crime analysis, business geographics,
public health, etc.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather
conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to
10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force
frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or
otherwise move object.
Work Hours
Full-time faculty teach 6 courses per year. Candidates for this
position will teach four (4) courses and will receive two (2)
course releases (one in Fall semester & one in Spring semester)

Position Overview
Davey Resource Group Inc. (DRG), is seeking persons interested in natural resources careers, as an Urban Forester / Environmental Technician. DRG provides a full array of horticultural, ecological stewardship, lakeshore, ravine, streambank, and bluff restoration to clients in the private and public sectors throughout the Midwest .
Job Duties
Urban Forestry Description and Responsibilities Duties: Selected candidate will perform office and field-based forestry and arboricultural consulting work for municipal and private clients. Support clients with day-to-day forestry activities, including but not limited to: tree inventories, vegetation and natural resource surveys, management plans, tree risk assessment and tree appraisal, recommend tree maintenance activities, tree protection and preservation plans, set up tree planting programs, review and facilitate tree pruning or removal contracts, observe or support vegetation management operations, respond to citizen-initiated tree requests, provide grant assistance, support use of geographic information systems (GIS), implement software solutions, and write reports, letters, or memos in support of client needs. The majority of work in this position will take place in an outdoor or field environment (80%+). Position requires travel, often out of town or state. Responsible for all aspects of project implementation including fieldwork, data analysis, report writing, project delivery, client interaction, and related administrative tasks. Typical clients include local, state, tribal, and federal government agencies, educational institutions, cemeteries, zoos/arboretums, non-profit organizations, and private developers.
Environmental Technician Description and Responsibilities Duties: While working as an ET selected candidate will work collaboratively as part of a team. Position involves a variety of work, including invasive plant species control, native plant and seed installation, streambank, lake shore, ravine, and bluff stabilization and restoration, prescribed burning and other types of habitat restoration. The position is full time, but depends on workload and weather conditions. Majority of work is outdoors, often in inclement weather and in rugged terrain, and may involve using heavy equipment, such as spray rigs, backpack sprayers, augers, chain saws.
Qualifications
Desired qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years experience in urban forestry
• International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist or ability to obtain shortly after hiring
• Tree Risk Assessment Qualified (TRAQ) or ability to obtain shortly after hiring
• Possession of or be willing to obtain an Illinois Department of Agriculture Certified Pesticide Applicators License
• Prescribed burn experience and S130/S190 certification
• Tree/Plant identification
• Training in chain saw, brush saw, and 4x4 ATV/UTV beneficial
• Current Driver’s License and driving record in good standing
• Proficient working knowledge of computers, including GIS systems
• Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work and hike in urban and wooded terrain and inclement weather
• Ability to work independently, be adaptable, and manage all project field tasks
• Ability to travel extensively
• Excellent communication skills

Elmhurst University is searching for a 1 year visiting assistant professor in the field of biochemistry to start in August 2023. Teaching responsibilities include a year-long sequence of biochemistry courses for biology and chemistry majors and students preparing for pre-health professions, includes one semester of lab; and a first-year course (either a one semester GOB course... general chemistry, or the organic/biochemistry of a GOB). Teaching experience is preferred but not required.
A successful candidate will be able to engage with students both inside and outside the classroom through evidence-based pedagogy and proactive mentoring. Course and laboratory design should include contemporary biochemistry topics and techniques that follow best practices, include active learning methods and prepare students for jobs in modern labs.
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Elmhurst University serves 40-50 majors and a similar number of minors, participates in general education and supports students majoring in biology, nursing, exercise science, physics and environmental studies. Our department holds an endorsement from the American Chemical Society and offers majors in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Essential Functions
Responsibilities for this position include course and laboratory design, preparation, teaching, grading and support of undergraduates enrolled in instructed courses.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should have a M.S. in biochemistry or chemistry (with training specific to biochemistry) and a desire to teach undergraduate students at a comprehensive liberal art setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Applicants with experience teaching undergraduate students and/or have expertise in pharmaceutical/pharmacology, medicinal chemistry are strongly encouraged to apply.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
