• Engineer will be responsible for creating and updating network documentation and drawings. Candidate should have strong Visio and written skills. Candidate should be detail oriented and a great deal of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Coordinate moving deployable equipment between markets and maintain accurate stocking levels. Replenish inventory as stocking levels pass thresholds to ensure equipment availability for the growth of production network.

Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science degree (B. S.) or equivalent from four-year University or technical school
• 1 to 2 years related experience
• Working knowledge of the Layer 2 and Layer3 networking including STP, G.8032, MPLS/VPLS, and VLANs.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office and Visio as these applications are critical for day to day functions.
• Comfortable working with equipment such as Cisco, Juniper, Accedian, Cyan and other carrier-class Ethernet hardware.
• Great organization skills are a must.

b. Reviewing documents developed by other PPE and Gateway team members, and preparing for technical milestone reviews
c. Supporting and/or leading the technical assessment of avionics engineering data and reports from the partner involved in avionics and network interfaces.
d. Performing independent trades and analysis of PPE partner avionics designs as needed.
e. Assessing the Prime partner's design for technical risks.
f. Providing weekly updates for major accomplishment to the PPE Avionics Lead.

Required Skills:
• 802.3 gigabit ethernet and AS6802 time triggered ethernet networking architecting, testing, and implementation

Skills & Experience We're Looking For:
• Highly skillful and deep experiences and knowledges in architecture surrounding network hardware and software disaggregation, hypervisor and container technology, horizontally scalable microservices, network function virtualizations of Internet, VPN, WIFI, SDWAN, SASE etc.
• Experience surrounding 5G mobile core and access networks, specifications, solutions; SD-RAN, Mobile Core, 3GPP standards, network protocols, procedures, implementation.
• Experience surrounding Internet and IP Service including firewalls, VLANs, IP/MPLS/Ethernet network technologies protocols, Private Line, Private LAN, Dedicated Internet, IPVPN implementations.
• Highly resourceful in Network Orchestration architecture, specification, and design.
• Experience working within service provider networks in a technical and business planning capacity is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

In support of NASA’s Power and Propulsion Element (PPE) and Gateway concept, the selected individual will support the PPE avionics engineering insight effort. This includes:
• Review of requirements, concept of operations, interface documents, technical assessments of data and reports, verification and validation (V&V), planning for insight of the assembly, integration, and functional and operational testing of the spacecraft.
• Expert review of the time-triggered Ethernet network design and configuration used in the spacecraft along with the assembly, integration, and testing (AI&T) of the network.
• Provide avionics level V&V; insight into spacecraft networking interface development, planning; and execution of the PPE Prime Contractor design.
• Interface with NASA project personnel, PPE and HALO contractors, and hardware manufacturing personnel.
• Ensure technical integration across the PPE and to Gateway.
• Perform insight activities and work pertaining to network communications in conjunction with the PPE contracting partner.
• Provide general avionics engineering support to the Avionics Engineering Team at NASA GRC and JSC including:
a. Participating in team working meetings and project management meetings.
b. Reviewing documents developed by other PPE and Gateway team members, and preparing for technical milestone reviews
c. Supporting and/or leading the technical assessment of avionics engineering data and reports from the partner involved in avionics and network interfaces.
d. Performing independent trades and analysis of PPE partner avionics designs as needed.
e. Assessing the Prime partner’s design for technical risks.
f. Providing weekly updates for major accomplishment to the PPE Avionics Lead.

Required Skills:
• 802.3 gigabit ethernet and AS6802 time triggered ethernet networking architecting, testing, and implementation
• Layer 2 and layer 3 ethernet networking configuration
• Ability to work across disciplines, NASA centers, and contractor organizations.

Other Desired Skills:
