LegendLark is a queer D&D podcast & production company looking for a part-time audio editor willing to work on a 1099 contract basis. We are based in Minneapolis, MN, but believe in workplace flexibility and accommodation, so this is a fully REMOTE position hiring anywhere in the US...

We are looking for an audio editor to complete the 2nd pass of each episode of our podcast. The ideal candidate would have experience with audio editing in Adobe Audition, and be capable of working in a flexible environment with quick turn-around times.

Job description

As an audio editor for LegendLark, you will receive a rough-cut Adobe Audition file from us once every 14 days. This audio will already have most background noise filtered out and any irrelevant dialogue deleted. Your job would be to add in crossfades, level volume, remove any left-over background noise, adjust timing to make the edits sound natural. Once complete, you will send us the clean Adobe Audition file and we will add music and publish the episode. Typical rough episodes are between 50-80 minutes in length. Turn-around time for processing will be 3 days.

We will give training on our process via video call.

At certain times you will be asked to edit longer episodes, more than one episode (such as bonus episodes for our Patreon), or to do the first editing pass on an audio section.

The rate for this position is $1.75 per minute of audio that you edit, with a potential for increased pay and editing responsibility in the future.

Pay will be issued on the first of every month. On average, you could expect between $160 to $280 per month depending on episode length and quantity.

Qualifications

Must already own and be proficient with Adobe Audition.

Must be capable of working on a flexible schedule.

Must be comfortable editing for a queer comedy podcast with explicit language.

Must be qualified to work as a 1099 independent contractor.

Must be consistent and a good communicator, with excellent attention to detail.

Ideal candidate would be interested in the possibility of additional assignments.

No degree required.

Additional Info:

After a video interview, if you are chosen as a potential candidate, we will issue a test to assess your skill level. You will be paid at a rate of $1.75/minute of audio for completing the test. This test will contain a small section of audio to be edited according to our guidelines, which we will outline for you prior to the test. Once complete, we will review the audio and let you know if you are approved.
