I have an immediate need for an in-home conversational German tutor in Crowley in-between Crowley Cemetery & Texas Exchange Bank. The student is a 12 year old. She would like to work with a tutor to start learning German.

The student has always wanted to learn the German language so she is seeking the support of a tutor. She would like to learn conversational German and be able to communicate with others. She may also want some basic reading and writing skills. The tutor can utilize any of their own material and the student's Grandma is also open to recommendations on material moving forward.

The student's overall goal is to learn how to speak and understand German.

The student wants 1 hour sessions 2 times a week. She is available Monday through Friday from 4pm-7pm and Saturday & Sunday from 11am-5pm. Grandma is willing to drive closer to tutor and meet at a closer location if needed.

Job Requirements
• Tutor must be willing to work in-person, face to face at the student's home in Crowley in-between Crowley Cemetery & Texas Exchange Bank.
• Tutor must be bilingual in German & English.
• Tutor must be available for 1 hour sessions 2 times a week either weekdays (Mon-Fri) between 4pm-7pm or weekends (Sat & Sun) between 11am-5pm.
• Minimal travel required to meet with student (you decide the distance you are willing to travel, typically 5-10 miles)
• Due to insurance requirements applicants must not be a minor.

Your profile
• Fluent in your teaching language: You have an outstanding command of the language you wish to teach. If German is not your native language, an official C2 CEFR certificate is required. You also speak and write well in English for communication with the Teacher Relations Team.
• Teaching certificate: you hold a DAF (or related) teaching certificate from a recognised educational institution. A degree in a language-related field is a plus.
• Teaching experience as a second language teacher. Online experience teaching groups is a plus.
• Technical equipment: high speed internet connection, headset with microphone, laptop/desktop with a camera.
• Technical skills: you are very familiar with Zoom.us. You enjoy discovering new features and incorporating them in the virtual classroom.
