Hi
I am interested in your experience in createing online calculators...
I run a gates company here in the UK.
I am putting together a new website in the Ecommerce package called EKM. So your code would need to be embedded into this website, EKM do provide access to the HTML for further development.
I wish to provide an easy and visual method that visitors to my website can use to calculate the gaps between posts, the boundary of their environment
Hi
I am interested in your experience in createing online calculators...
I run a gates company here in the UK.
I am putting together a new website in the Ecommerce package called EKM. So your code would need to be embedded into this website, EKM do provide access to the HTML for further development.
I wish to provide an easy and visual method that visitors to my website can use to calculate the gaps between posts, the boundary of their environment (eg walls or pillars) and the gap between posts and gates.
See attached image of the data inputs and calculations needed.
What I need ultimately is the gate widths and height as these we need to make the gates. (Shown in yellow on the image attached)
(initially the calculator can be simple with just the gate leaf widths being calcualted, however perhaps can you let me know if the number data entered by client can proportionately change the gate and post width and heights visually represented ? that will be what I am aiming for long run or immediately if it can be done easily or economically enough ?)
So process of client using the calculator is set out below:
User enters the gap they have between their walls/pillars as shown in the image linked to in this text as the red text "INPUT".
Then select the post width they wish to have from 2 options 100 and 150
Then select the gaps between the gates and the posts which has 3 options of 5, 10 or 15mm
Then select the gate height.
notice that the gap between the gates is fixed at 10mm
From the clients inputs the width of each gate leaf is automatically calculated as shown in the yellow text in yellow box in my image.
The clients result of the gate widths and height of the gates and post width selections of the client then need to be used to look up the nearest gate size so that the gate of the nearest size can be selected and then modified. (We have pre manufactured widths of gates that can be modified - so in the example image we would use a 4,000mm wide set of gates and cut them down to be a total of 3,770mm (which is the 1,885mm per gate leaf calculated as shown in yellow text).
( EKM dont allow database or source code access, so this data can be looked up on an external web reference that i can update when needed - eg maybe can use Google Sheets to reference such data from your code that will embeded into the EKM website ??)
Very keen to hear from you
Many thanks
