Job Description

The Project Director is part of the Pathways to Success grant award. This position is a requirement of the grant and will serve a key role in the implementation and general oversight for the duration of the grant.

Texas A&M University–San Antonio is currently seeking an initiative-taking and experienced professional to join our organization as a Project Director. Reporting to the Associate Vice Provost of Student Success and Retention, the Project Director will be responsible for overseeing the management and implementation of our Title V grant-funded project – Caminos Hacia el Éxito (Pathways to Success).

This is a dynamic role that requires strong leadership, project management skills, and expertise in grant administration. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of the project and achieving its objectives.

This is a grant-funded position. Grant-funded positions are contingent upon available grant funding.

Salary: $75,000/annually

Responsibilities:
• Serve as grant administrator and institutional lead for the project.
• Administer the program per Title V regulations.
• Develop a communication system with staff.
• Supervise and coordinate the implementation of all three (3) project components.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive project plan, including timelines, deliverables, and milestones.
• Provide supervision to other project staff.
• Maintain documentation for all Title V-funded personnel and outside consultants.
• Develop and implement an evaluation plan to assess the effectiveness and impact of the project.
• Collect and analyze data, prepare evaluation reports, and make recommendations for program improvements based on findings.
• Serve as the contact for the external evaluator and work closely with the evaluator and the Office of
• Institutional Research to monitor the progress of all project components.
• Monitor the activity budget and work with the business office to ensure that policies and procedures are followed regarding expenditures and record keeping.
• Adhere to all timelines outlined in the grant proposal.
• Report on progress to the college President and other administrators, as well as other constituents, including college committees.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with the Title V program officer, including submitting required information and reports.
• Collaborate with the Center for Academic Innovation to address component III of the grant - Changing the Culture Through Professional Development.
• Participation in conferences related to the management and best practices of the grant.

Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in applicable field.
• Ten (10) years experience in management.

Preferred Education and Experience:
• Master's degree preferred.
• Grant management experience.
• Experience working in a Title III or Title V project and teaching experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Demonstrated experience in successfully managing and implementing complex projects.
• Data collection/analysis experience.
• Experience developing or providing support programs to college students.
• Ability to facilitate collaborative work across departments.
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to prioritize and execute projects at various levels.
• Demonstrates experience working with Hispanic/underserved populations.

The Instructional Designer III (Part time/Remote), under general supervision, leads the development and support for the classroom, hybrid or online courses. Develops and delivers training for faculty and/or staff in areas of instructional design, andragogy, and best practices. Manages and leads project work.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Collaborates with instructors and subject matter experts (SMEs) to design and develop online, blended, and web-enhanced courses.
• Consults and leads faculty and/or staff with instructional design.
• Manages course design and development projects. Administers and maintains online development courses/resources.
• Oversees and manages the planning and coordinating materials with course instructor, instructional design team, and multi- media team.
• Leads faculty and /or staff through the design process and makes key recommendations for design. Researches, reviews, and recommends software, multimedia applications, and web- based educational technologies.
• Identifies and recommends the use of instructional strategies, technologies, and applications. Researches and reviews emerging instructional design innovations and trends.

• Plans, develops, and provides guidance for faculty and/or staff on instructional strategies and course design.
• Performs usability studies and creates reports.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in applicable field.
• Four (4) years of related experience in instructional design.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and instructional technologies.

The Department of Criminology and Political Science seeks applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, nontenure track, instructional assistant professor position beginning in Fall 2024.
