• Coordinates with division and acts as subject matter expert and contact for tourism initiatives and relationships pertaining to: agritourism, history, hotels, sports tourism, public relations, community organizations and non- profits, events spaces as it relates to the small meeting market (family reunions, business meetings and weddings).

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Education, Program or Event Planning or related field. Experience in the hospitality and tourism industry, as an educator or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
Licenses or Certifications:
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Special Requirements/Qualifications:
Subject to work beyond the normal scheduled hours of work.
Required to travel to trade shows and tourism related events.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of dynamics of local, state, and Mid-Atlantic regional, group travel and tour industry.
• Knowledge of group tour organizations and marketing networks
• Knowledge of partnership building, tour package development, itinerary research, and development.
• Knowledge of professional development and staff training strategies.
• Knowledge of PC Operations- Word Processing, Database, Charts, Presentations, Contact Management, Email and Telephone Etiquette, Digital Photography and Graphic Design
• Ability to plan and implement group tour itineraries and group marketing packages.
• Ability to customize itineraries and group packages to compliment special requests or needs of the tour operator.
• Ability to identify and build a database of local contractors that offer specialty services and trips, such as outdoor adventure, history, art and recreation, education, and leisure- themed group tour experiences.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and lead initiatives through teamwork and consensus.
• Ability to prioritize and organize projects and work independently.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to proofread and edit tourism-related materials.
