Job Responsibilities: What you will do as a Diesel Mechanic

Complete a quality preventative maintenance inspection and repairs on all company owned equipment, to include tractors, trailers, refrigerated units and support equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to appropriate specifications (OEM, DOT, Swift, etc.)
• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform minor and/or complex repairs for all equipment.
• Disassemble, repair and re-assemble of Heavy Truck & Trailer components.
• Perform tire maintenance to include: repairs, failure analysis, coding, identification.

Qualifications: What you need to bring
• High School or combination of training and/or experience required.
• Demonstrated/proven superior customer service skills.
• Ability to read and understand repair manuals, understanding and ability to complete/fill tags and repair orders.
• Ability to use and learn various diagnostic software used on tractor/trailers.
• Must possess excellent computer skills.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:
• Perform efficient and expert work on repair orders, in accordance with dealership, state and factory standards; maintain knowledge of all factory-technical bulletins
• Address customers’ primary concerns with diagnosis, repair, and quality control to attain ‘Fixed First Visit’ expectations
• Perform the KG Electronic Multi Point Inspection on every vehicle; immediately notify Service Advisor if the car has more problems than you thought, less than you thought, or if problems will take up more time than you thought
• Master our Dealer Management System (Reynolds) for time keeping, work distribution, electronic inspections, repair quotes and communication
• Be accountable to all dealership owned tools, and superior cleanliness throughout workspace and in all customer vehicles (“leave no trace” standard)

• 2 to 3 years of automotive technician (mechanic) experience preferred

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Education: PROOF OF EDUCATION: All applicants who are using education or a combination of education and experience to qualify must submit copies of official or unofficial transcripts which include grades, credit hours earned, major(s), grade point average or class ranking, institution name, and student name.
