Most Amigas were designed without a battery-operated clock to keep the date and time because most Amigas were not sold with a battery. The design of the original A1000 did not include a battery-operated clock to keep the date and time, and subsequent models (A500, A2000, etc.) were designed without a battery-operated clock to keep the date and time because it was not included in the standard configuration of those models.
