Position Purpose:

The Computer Support Technician provides technical support and assistance to AACN team members both on-site and remote. This position is primarily responsible for providing on-demand troubleshooting for computer hardware (PCs, MACs, printers, scanners) and software, as well as preparing systems for new team members and desktop upgrades.

Main Accountabilities:

Ensures timely customer service to AACN team members.
• Analyzes, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains desktop hardware, software and peripheral equipment both onsite and remote.
• Assists AACN team members in set up and usage of online communications tools.
• Assists in changing configurations and setups in large conference rooms.

Ensures efficient and effective administration of technology assets.
• Accurately tracks and monitors association technology assets.
• Ensures all hardware and software is properly recorded, licensed and registered.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance within designated guidelines.

Implements key processes related to the IT Department.
• Configure and deploy computer systems to AACN team members - end users.

- Includes packaging and shipping of computer equipment.

- Onboarding of new team members.

Maintains help desk database as required.

Participates in cross-training of self and team members to ensure consistent support to internal and external customers.

Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required: The individual must have and be able to consistently apply the following skills at the levels indicated to produce the results required.

• PC Imaging and deployment experience.

Education and/or Experience:
• Minimum high school diploma with some college preferred.
• Three years’ experience in PC operations and applications.
• CompTIA A+ Certification preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with PCs, MACs, Microsoft suite of products including Email & amp; Calendaring, and Google Apps including Gmail and Calendar.

Assists with the creation moderator packets for all conferences supported.

Maintains speaker and committee information in database as well as statistics for all programs.

Conference Registration and Customer Service

Responsible for directly interacting with members and non-members to help with successful

navigation through AACN’s conference registration process, including payment assistance,

registration confirmation, substitutions, refunds, and cancellations.

Responsible for accuracy of conference database and registration lists.

Assists with onsite registrations and invoices registrants at conference completion.

Supports Director of Conferences with exhibits and sponsorships.

Abstract Management

Assists with the online abstract application and selection process for select conferences including call for abstracts, set-up of application site, revision process and applicant notifications. Develops abstract and poster books; and manages onsite requirements including poster boards and preparation of PowerPoint Slide Decks.

Conference Evaluations

Assists with the conference evaluations process for select conferences. Ensures that all conference attendees receive link to online evaluation site and that evaluation summary documents are developed for review by the Director of Academic Nursing Development.

Conference Logistics Support

Supports Director of Conferences on a variety of conference planning activities including printing of badges, signage, and final program, and assignment of ribbons. Assists with the preparation of conference Apps.

Assists with the assembly of meeting materials/packets as requested including packing, shipping, and unpacking of boxes related to conferences.

Provides onsite assistance for AACN conferences as requested. Ensures on time set up for registration, meeting rooms and audio visual.

Assists with speaker reimbursements.

Organizes and maintains conference supplies and orders as needed.

Additional Duties

Provides conference logistics support to other AACN departments as requested (e.g., assistance for speaker confirmations and thank you letters, creating conference evaluations).
