You will also help customers locate materials and answer a wide variety of questions relating to the library's public computers, research databases, and other online resources.
We're looking for candidates who can be pleasant and helpful in a customer service oriented environment.
Many of our processes require close attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
You will be an important part of our team and as such must be reliable and punctual.
These positions requires 30-40 hours per week.
They will include some weekend hours.
Important:
This is a Library Associate position.
Associates are contracted through a staffing agency.
This is not a City of Albuquerque position.
Associates are allowed to work an assignment for two years and may then reapply after a 90 day furlough.
Renewed assignment is not guaranteed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED, supplemented by one (1) or more years of college course work.
Preference will be given to anyone with previous experience working in a library or in a customer service position as well as Spanish speakers or anyone with experience working with children.
Essential functions will require standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, climbing, pushing carts one-hundred (100) pounds or greater, and lifting/carrying cartons forty (40) pounds or greater.
