CAPP is a trauma-informed multidisciplinary program of approximately 40 staff providing comprehensive assessment and care for victims of child maltreatment in four locations serving NH, VT, and ME in collaboration with similar programs. Our patient services include outpatient clinics, hospital-based inpatient consult, and a regional on-call triage system. Our program provides consultation and training for DH faculty and residents, CACs, CPS, Law Enforcement, Prosecution, and other stakeholders. We engage in advocacy and provide collaborative leadership to state agencies.

The successful candidate must be eligible for appointment to The Geisel School of Medicine and at a rank commensurate with experience and academic portfolio to teach trainees and engage in research with opportunities across Dartmouth's campuses including world-class traditional biomedical research, global health initiatives, and renowned leadership in quality improvement, outcome, and healthcare delivery sciences at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice. Our volunteers help change a child’s story from one of abuse or neglect, to stability and security.

Volunteers:
• Spend quality time getting to know the child on their case
• Speak regularly with parents, relatives, foster parents, social workers, teachers and medical providers
• Identify any unmet needs of the child and determine solutions with child’s support team
• Write a court reports, attend court hearings and speak to the judge about the child’s progress

Volunteers spend about 10-15 hours a month on their case, with more time spent in the first 90 days of the case assignment. They stay with the case until the child is in a safe, permanent home or another permanent solution is in place.

This requires a signed release and authorization and the background check includes a search of DHS systems for any history of abuse or neglect of a child. Education:

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Prevention of Sexual Abuse (PSA) Compliance Manager is responsible for managing the implementation and ongoing compliance with the Interim Final Rule (IFR) on preventing, detecting, and responding to sexual abuse and sexual harassment. This manager will actively promote a culture of safety, proactive risk management, program excellence, and ongoing regulatory readiness; and lead quality improvement activities.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
• Responsible for managing the implementation and ongoing compliance with the Interim Final Rule (IFR) standards on preventing, detecting, and responding to sexual abuse and sexual harassment.
• Work closely with the site director and PO team to create written policies and procedures that provide a safe, structured, and productive environment that meets federal and state guidelines.
• Ensure that all members of the team are actively functioning in accordance with the standards.
• Liaise with ORR’s PSA Coordinator, the designated FFS, and the designated PO to implement the IFR within 6 months of the shelter facility opening and ensure compliance with all the standards thereafter.
• Serve as the point of contact for ORR’s PSA Coordinator regarding matters related to the IFR standards and disseminate all information to the site director and PO team;
• Respond to all ORR and PSA Coordinator requests.
• Be accountable for compliance issues at the UC Care Provider facility.
• Compile Data and Create Reports as necessary.
• Create and provide effective communication for staff and children on PSA safety guidelines, i.e.: training, webinars, and written notices;
• Maintain all records for audit purposes.
• Upon request, this role may be required to travel with UAC, 14 and under, to locations in the United States.
• Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE and/or REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED
• Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social service fields and at least 1 year of experience working with child welfare standards, best practices, and compliance issues.

Telephone consultations to professionals in the community and state on medical aspects of suspected abuse.

Education

Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

Position Summary

The Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (GPAM) at the University of North Carolina is recruiting a for a full time faculty position, which will have joint responsibilities in in the Section of Child Maltreatment (.60 FTE) and the Division of Hospital Pediatrics (.40 FTE). The primary role is to lead the inpatient child abuse and neglect service at UNC Children's Hospital, in addition to leading the educational efforts for resident and medical student child maltreatment education. The Child Maltreatment Section is a diverse team including three board certified child abuse pediatricians, one nurse practitioner and two social workers, and includes a state-funded educational program that assures the quality of medical child abuse evaluations across the state.

In addition to this section, the GPAM division includes a wide range of clinical services, a long history of important research, a central educational role and active advocacy. Current clinical care includes a primary care clinic, diagnostic referral clinic, complex care program, adolescent medicine specialty care, and clinics addressing behavioral and mental health.

Within the Division of Hospital Pediatrics, this faculty position will be primarily evening and night work including direct patient care responsibilities and supervision of residents at UNC Children's Hospital and potentially at UNC Rex Hospital. Patients will include general pediatrics, newborn nursery, bone marrow transplant and co-management with other pediatric specialties.

The Division of Hospital Pediatrics is a busy and diverse inpatient group that includes 24/7 coverage of inpatient pediatric and newborn nursery services in Chapel Hill as well as a 10 bed pediatric unit at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Additionally, we have a consult service and coordinate admissions and transfers for all medical patients. Our services and providers focus on the care of children with medical complexity and co-management with medical and surgical specialty consultants. Our faculty are academically productive in many areas including medical education, quality improvement and patient safety. There is a strong culture of collaboration, cooperation and mentorship.

• Acts as a liaison to recruit high caliber Norm Therapy® Intake Specialists and attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization.
• Actively searching for people potentially interested in becoming NTIS candidates using internet search, social media, and other sources as requested.
