Academy of Art University is seeking to hire part-time Instructors to teach undergraduate art and design classes for the Fall 2023 semester. Share your talent and knowledge with our students as they explore their creativity, define their vision and reach their true potential as artists. These onsite roles allow you to teach in a world class city and offer a rewarding opportunity to work with aspiring artists as well as our esteemed faculty.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all aspects of teaching assigned classes in San Francisco, including, but not limited to, preparing for the class, implementing a syllabus and course outline, communicating with students, evaluating, and grading students.
• Complete and submit all progress grades as well as mid-term and final grades.
• Provide timely feedback to students to aid in the academic learning process.
• Email students who are absent from class. Communicate concerns to other University departments as needed.
• Perform additional instructor duties in addition to the class load schedule, as assigned by the Department Director. These additional duties may include, but not be limited to, workshops, directed study sessions, portfolio reviews, and other instructional work.
What You Will Need to Bring to the Team:

• A passion for art and design and at least two years of professional experience working within a related field.

Compensation: Starting at $43.00 per hour for teaching and $17.00 per hour for all other non-teaching work. Starting pay rate is based on the academic discipline.

Academy of Art University is currently hiring for a Campus Safety Patrol Officer to work within a team that is vital to the safety of our blended student, faculty and staff population. This person will need to possess excellent communication and customer service skills, exercise good judgement and be able to navigate driving within and walking around the city of San Francisco. Additional responsibilities include:
• Welcome, assist and answer inquiries from Academy associates, visitors, and staff in a supportive and professional manner.
• Respond to calls for service, throughout the University’s campus community, in a timely manner.
• Serves as a Title IX mandatory reporter, which requires reporting information to the Title IX Officer as soon as they become aware of alleged discrimination or harassment on the basis of sex or gender. This includes, but is not limited to, alleged sexual assault.
• Ensure building security by locking interior and exterior doors as needed after hours of operation.
• Patrol campus grounds throughout assigned shifts and quickly resolve issues that are identified.
• Support with the reopening of facilities as needed by unlocking exterior doors.
• Complete a daily activity log to include detailed summaries of the work conducted during each shift.
• Provide student, staff and faculty escort service utilizing Academy assigned Patrol vehicles.

This person will need to possess excellent communication and customer service skills, exercise good judgement and be able to navigate driving within and walking around the city of San Francisco. Candidates must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time as well as push and pull a mail cart.
Responsibilities include:
Receiving Duties:
• Receive high volume of packages from UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.
• Verify package counts and integrity of all packages
• Open and verify package contents against packing slips
• Provide trouble shooting and problem solving for order issues
• Process orders and receive in software system
Mailroom Duties:
• Process a high volume of USPS mail and interoffice envelopes
• Prepare shipments, kits, and postage for USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.

This person will need to possess excellent communication and customer service skills, exercise good judgement and be able to... navigate driving within and walking around the city of San Francisco. Additional responsibilities include:
• Welcome, assist and answer inquiries from Academy associates, visitors, and staff in a supportive and professional manner.
• Respond to calls for service, throughout the University’s campus community, in a timely manner.
• Serves as a Title IX mandatory reporter, which requires reporting information to the Title IX Officer as soon as they become aware of alleged discrimination or harassment on the basis of sex or gender. This includes, but is not limited to, alleged sexual assault.
• Ensure building security by locking interior and exterior doors as needed after hours of operation.
• Patrol campus grounds throughout assigned shifts and quickly resolve issues that are identified.
• Support with the reopening of facilities as needed by unlocking exterior doors.
• Complete a daily activity log to include detailed summaries of the work conducted during each shift.
• Provide student, staff and faculty escort service utilizing Academy assigned Patrol vehicles.
• Provide break coverage for Campus Safety Hosts and Patrol colleagues as needed.
• Identify and suggest potential improvements that will enhance safety on campus.
• Assist with special event coverage as assigned.
Requirements:
• Possess an active California Guard Card.
• Have a valid California driver's license and be insurable under the Academy's provider.
• A minimum of two years of professional experience in a related field is required.
• Effectively communicate policies and safety procedures to a broad population.
• Use sound judgement in difficult situations and solve problems in an effective manner.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service to everyone while performing assigned duties.
• Manage time well and be able to prioritize competing tasks.
• Be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to walk several city blocks at a time.

• Swing: Thursday to Sunday (3pm - 1:30am)
