constitutional values and rights.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ACS is hiring a full time Administration Associate. The ACS Administration Associate will work

with the Administration Senior Associate, Assistant Director of Administration and Director of

Finance to perform a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to:
• Providing administrative support across all ACS departments, with a particular focus on

supporting the Administration department
• Working on a cross-departmental team responsible for maintaining ACS’s Salesforce

database
• Preparing Continuing Legal Education (CLE) documentation for ACS-hosted events
• Providing staff support at ACS events held in Washington, DC
• Creating and maintaining an ongoing and organized record of donations received
• Coordinating with other departments regarding basic finance operations
• Serving as initial point of contact for lawyers, judges, professors, and other members of the

public contacting the organization via email or voicemail
• Assisting with vendors and payment processes
• Maintaining department files
• Processing incoming mail
• Other duties as assigned

The Administration Associate will also work cross-departmentally on projects within ACS and will

have the opportunity to become familiar with the wide variety of programs and initiatives that ACS

is involved with. These may include ACS chapter events, the Class Cancellation project, and ACS’s

Path to the Bench program, among others.

On occasion, evening work will be required for specific events or to meet specific project deadlines.

Weekend work is limited to major conferences once or twice per year.

This is a hybrid position located in Washington, DC that requires some in-person work at ACS’s

national office. Applicants should be located in, or be willing to relocate to, the Washington, DC

area.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination or education and experience
• A commitment to work a one-year minimum term
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
• Salesforce experience is a plus
• A strong commitment to ACS’s mission
• Self-motivation/ability to work independently
• Ability to manage several diverse projects and budget time accordingly
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• ACS requires proof of full COVID-19 vaccination of all employees that perform in-person job

DUTIES...
The Deputy Director of Strategic Engagement will:
• Build relationships in the executive, legislative and judicial branches, as well as partner organizations, to further ACS's work on judicial nominations and related issues;
• Manage ACS's Judicial Nominations Taskforce, a senior group of attorney advisors, and arrange events, conference calls, and briefings to support the group;
• Work closely with the Department of Communications to disseminate information through judicialnominations.org and other outlets, and collaborate with Network Advancement and Policy and Programming staff members to develop local and national public events that demonstrate why courts matter;
• Leverage ACS Issue Briefs, blog posts, and other existing materials, and commission additional materials where necessary or desirable in support of the project;
• Stay abreast of all ACS initiatives and identify and create new opportunities to build audience for ACS materials and expertise; and
• Manage budget and strategic priorities related to these opportunities.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess many of the following qualifications and personal attributes:
• A proven self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to absorb information while tracking many moving parts

RESPONSIBILITIES

ACS is hiring an Associate for our Strategic Engagement team.

The Strategic Engagement Associate performs a wide variety of administrative tasks in support of ACS’s work to build a pipeline of progressive legal talent for influential legal and policy positions, with an emphasis on the federal judiciary. Work will include lending substantive support; cultivating high level stakeholders; event scheduling and planning; communications with ACS network members (Chapter Leaders, Judges, Hill Staff etc.); Zoom facilitation; digital support (website management, email management, research etc.); and data entry and database management. The Associate will provide substantive support on various conferences, including both network-wide events and private convenings, and generally support the team’s work on expanding and strengthening ACS’s judicial pipeline work. The Associate will also often participate in networking sessions and opportunities with notably accomplished progressive attorneys from diverse professional backgrounds. Evening work is very occasionally required for specific events, and weekend work is limited to major conferences once or twice per year.

Applicants who are recent college graduates and considering law school are encouraged to apply, as the person in this position will develop a deeper understanding of the legal profession.

ACS has a flexible remote work policy, but this position is based in Washington, D.C. A timed writing test will be a required part of the application process.
