We are looking for a motivated Lead Data Engineer with strong problem-solving skills and the willingness to work with a large group of people to join our team. This person will be responsible for supporting our predictive analysts in building and maintaining the databases that power our subscription tools. Success in this role is highly dependent on the ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize multiple tasks and achieve effective results in a high energy, fast-paced work environment.
Responsibilities
• Deliver solutions that are well-engineered, maintainable, and tested consistently and quickly
• Identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities as it relates to helping our predictive analysis team function at an efficient level
• Observe system performance in your domain and identify emerging problems
• Quickly assess and resolve production incidents that arise in the components your team is responsible forQualifications
• 4-7 years experience in a similar position
• Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Strong analytical skills, ability to learn quickly, communicate and work collaboratively in a team environment
• Extensive experience with extracting, transforming and loading (ETL) data and experience with Python
• Extensive experience writing and optimizing SQL queries
• Some big data experience with Spark/EMR/Databricks
• Experience using api's to automate data ingestion
• Familiarity with scraping tools and technologies
• Familiarity with AWS streaming services such as Kafka and Firehose.
• Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills
