CODA is currently looking for a* Residential Aide* to join our residential treatment team in Tigard! Our... residential programs support adult clients in recovery from substance use disorder and various co-occurring mental health disorders.
In this position, you would fulfill the following essential functions:
• Monitor the health conditions and whereabouts of clients as well as their behaviors and activities, reporting and/or documenting concerns and medical needs as instructed. Respond to emergencies per site procedures.
• Conduct and document safety checks and searches of client rooms, client property, and personal possessions per procedure.
• Assist client with self-administration of medications per protocols.
• Administer and observe client urinalysis (UA); document results.

• A high school diploma or GED, with some experience in substance abuse or detoxification treatment preferred.
• Basic computer skills including data entry and email.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate clinical concepts and program outcomes.

All CODA facilities are drug-free and smoke-free worksites. Employees may not be serving any supervised parole or probation.

• Monitor patients’ activities throughout the shift, adhering to the schedule and structured activities.
• Assist with planned and approved patient outings, providing transportation and ensuring program rules are followed during outings while serving as a positive role model for community-oriented behavior.
• Perform security procedures such as conducting and documenting searches of patient rooms, patient property, and personal possessions. Perform safety and security checks of the grounds regularly. Ensure contraband and disallowed items are not present in the facility.
• Assist patient with self-administration of medications per established procedures, including accurately recording all medication activities in the medication record.
• Perform and observe urine toxicology specimen collection following program procedures including strict adherence to protocols for testing same or differing genders.
• Assure chain of custody compliance prior to submission for testing.
• Record notes in daily shift log for each patient in accordance with standard clinical procedures. Provide timely and accurate clinical documentation regarding UA results, Breathalyzer, etc. in compliance with agency and regulatory standards, input data into electronic medical record.
• Assist with house cleaning as needed and maintain cleaning supplies.
• Complete shift change, including counting controlled medications and providing information to the next shift about any unusual events, abnormal behaviors of patients, and special notes necessary for them to understand the condition of the patients and program.
• Answer phones in a professional manner; complete filing; assist visitors as needed. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times according to HIPAA and 42-CFR.
• Assist with patient-run community meetings as necessary.
• Conduct new resident check-in and/or orientation to the program.
• Monitor treatment environment, providing interventions where needed to provide a safe and therapeutic community.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, enforcing professional boundaries and avoiding dual relationships, including any relationship outside of the specific scope of this position.
• In programs where children are present, may be required to provide care for infants and children, and maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Achieve outcomes using methods that align with CODA’s mission and values:
• Communicate accurately and positively about recovery and the use of evidence-based treatments.
• Use data and science to identify barriers, overcome obstacles, and inform decisions.

Schedule: Tuesdays - Saturdays 6:00am – 2:30pm.
