What we are seeking:

As the Director of Tax you will be the go-to expert for all things tax-related. Your primary responsibility will be to design and implement tax operations and strategies that optimize our financial position while ensuring compliance with applicable laws. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to drive tax initiatives and maintain our commitment to excellence.

What you'll be working on
• Manage relationships across multiple third party consultants in the preparation of direct and indirect global tax filings
• Oversee all aspects of tax compliance, reporting, and filing at local, state, and federal levels
• Develop and execute tax strategies that align with business objectives, optimizing our tax position
• Drive transfer pricing documentation and accounting analysis with third party consultants and preparation of inter-company transactions
• Manage sales, use, VAT, GST, and income tax compliance and monitor and manage state tax nexus
• Manage the sales and use tax system and related filings and compliance (Avalara)
• Develop and maintain relationships throughout the finance organization and cross-functionally to increase understanding of the business and potential impacts on tax compliance and strategy
• Stay current with legislative tax changes and tax-related accounting pronouncements
• Provide support for tax related topics for external auditors as needed
• Provide guidance on the tax implications of business decisions and transactions, collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring proactive adjustments to our tax strategy
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and government authorities.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing tax team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth

What we expect from you
• BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance or commensurate experience required
• 7+ years of experience in tax compliance roles
• CPA and MST with Big4 / large regional public accounting experience preferred
• Technology and SaaS industry experience preferred
• Advanced Excel capabilities required, experience with G Suite tools preferred
• Ability to work in a startup environment balancing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
• Proven track record of developing and implementing effective tax strategies
• Strong understanding of domestic and international tax laws and regulations
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and analytical skills

As the Technical Accounting Manager, you'll be the go-to expert for all technical accounting matters. Your responsibilities will include researching, interpreting, and implementing accounting policies and operations and providing guidance to cross-functional teams on the accounting treatment of complex transactions. This is a key leadership role where you'll be instrumental in maintaining financial integrity and driving compliance with accounting standards with exposure and visibility to the C-Suite.

• Lead the research, interpretation, and implementation of accounting policies, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other relevant standards
• Assist in the development, monitoring and improvement of internal controls, systems and policies
• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including the accounting treatment of technical transactions
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide guidance on accounting implications of business decisions
