• Bill and collect outstanding accounts receivable due to the City; file property damage claims with insurance companies.
• Balance the City’s daily cash receipts posted to the financial system.
• Monitor, process and reconcile customer deposit accounts; prepare monthly revenue drawdowns, customer refunds and account adjustments.
• Inputting and retrieving data into and from the City’s financial system.
• Updating data to Excel spreadsheets, Access databases and Word documents.
• Audit, verify, resolve, balance and otherwise check and correct work performed by accounting clerical personnel.
• Audit, balance, reconcile ledgers, journals, accounting records and reports with control figures, analyze accounts, research discrepancies and prepare correcting entries; reconcile bank statements.
• Prepare special and recurring schedules and reports, such as accounts receivable reconciliation and status reports, revenue reports, and statistical analyses.

Experience and Training: Candidates must have experience in performing extensive responsible double entry accounting, preferably with municipal accounting experience.
