The Department of Leadership and Organizational Psychology invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach courses in the Master of Science in Organizational Psychology (MSOP).
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of adjunct faculty is to deliver instruction in the manner determined by the department. Note: The M.S. in Organizational Psychology is offered through a distributed learning model. Courses are taught in both weekend sessions (three weekends per 9-week term) and/or weekly sessions (one night per week, per 9-week term).
In addition, faculty responsibilities may include:
• Preparation of syllabus and teaching of curriculum according to the goals and objectives of the department.

The Annual Giving Manager at Azusa Pacific... University reports to the Assistant Director of Annual Giving

The Annual Giving Manager at Azusa Pacific... University reports to the Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations and has primary responsibility for planning and managing the day-to-day operations of the Phonathon program and the Student Philanthropy program. The manager must be a quick-thinking problem-solver with great skill to continually evaluate their programs and have the flexibility and willingness to change fundraising tactics and strategy mid-year to achieve stated goals. As a main component of the broad base of donor support for APU, the Phonathon program is a first step in laying the foundation for future major gift donors by building donor loyalty and consistent giving to APU through donor renewal and acquisition.
Required Education
• Bachelor’s or higher degree.
Required Experience
• Two years’ experience in Phonathon fundraising preferred. Some supervisory experience preferred.
Primary Duties/Essential Functions
Phonathon
• Review the Phonathon program plan and methods to create and execute a new plan each year for the Phonathon program. Continue to build on the strength and growth of the existing program, as well as contribute new ideas and insights to increase the overall productivity of the program.
• Hire, train, and manage student supervisors. Training consists of a three-day intensive training program each September and January. Plan weekly supervisor meetings throughout the year, and conduct one-on-one monthly performance reviews with each supervisor.
• Hire, train, and manage student callers each semester. Manage phone interviews, conduct face-to-face interviews, and partner with Student Employment to make sure all students are eligible to work on campus. Submit all hiring and termination paperwork as needed. Training consists of a two-day intensive training program each semester. Create and conduct monthly performance reviews with each caller; includes handling caller termination and exit interviews as deemed necessary.
• Create and manage a budget for the Phonathon program, and manage vendor contracts, ensuring cost-effective and appropriate use of the program funds. Includes negotiating student salaries with Student Employment and managing all technical supplies necessary to run the program.
• Participate in crafting the yearly Annual Giving fundraising plan with the Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations and the Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations, with a specific emphasis on integrating the Phonathon program with all the solicitation and stewardship programs.
• Participate in Annual Giving and Donor Relations planning and strategy meetings. Provide input on the Phonathon and Student Philanthropy programs, give updates, and invent new strategies to enhance the overall Annual Giving and Donor Relations department.
• Work in Phonathon calling software to load prospect lists, build calling campaigns, write and deploy segmented calling scripts, analyze caller statistics, and ensure entry of accurate gift, pledge, and donor data updates.
• Supervise calling shifts. Oversee the student supervisors, assign callers to segments based on reviews and performance of each individual caller, create team goals, and conduct coaching and performance review sessions during shifts.
• Constantly monitor the ethos of the Phonathon program and team to create and execute a yearly motivational theme, creating ad hoc games and competitions (i.e. Fall Frenzy, March Madness, etc.) as needed to gain the best performance and productivity from supervisors and callers.
• Solicit local businesses to receive gift certificate incentives for Phonathon student workers.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations to produce Excel documents and other materials needed to appeal calling lists and program results reporting, write and execute mailing of all pledge and gift follow-up letters and fulfillment procedures, and assign work to the Annual Giving Student Assistant as needed.
• Partner with the Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations and Advancement Services staff to compile and design effective segmentation strategies for all appeals through the Phonathon program. • Develop reports and analyze statistics to help increase the strategic program development of the Phonathon program. Use the information gathered from this analysis to provide direction for change to increase program results yearly.

• Recruit, train, and lead a 5-10 member student committee for Student Philanthropy. Hold committee meetings throughout the year to conduct trainings, plan events, and develop members’ roles and responsibilities.
• With help from the student committee, host on-campus events (educational tabling, Thank A Giver (TAG) Week, Cougar Cash on Giving Day, etc.) with the purpose of educating the student body on fundraising and philanthropy and raising support.
• Participate on the Giving Day leadership team. Give ideas for new Student Philanthropy and Phonathon efforts to incorporate into Giving Day.
• Manage all student involvement with Giving Day, focusing on student engagement, solicitation, and stewardship. Include on-campus and online elements to engage the student body.
• Help create and execute the Student Philanthropy social media plan and elements for Giving Day.

The Annual Giving Manager at Azusa Pacific... University reports to the Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations and has primary responsibility for planning and managing the day-to-day operations of the Phonathon program and the Student Philanthropy program. The manager must be a quick-thinking problem-solver with great skill to continually evaluate their programs and have the flexibility and willingness to change fundraising tactics and strategy mid-year to achieve stated goals. As a main component of the broad base of donor support for APU, the Phonathon program is a first step in laying the foundation for future major gift donors by building donor loyalty and consistent giving to APU through donor renewal and acquisition.
Required Education
• Bachelor’s or higher degree.
Required Experience
• Two years’ experience in Phonathon fundraising preferred. Some supervisory experience preferred.
Primary Duties/Essential Functions
Phonathon
• Review the Phonathon program plan and methods to create and execute a new plan each year for the Phonathon program. Continue to build on the strength and growth of the existing program, as well as contribute new ideas and insights to increase the overall productivity of the program.
• Hire, train, and manage student supervisors. Training consists of a three-day intensive training program each September and January. Plan weekly supervisor meetings throughout the year, and conduct one-on-one monthly performance reviews with each supervisor.
• Hire, train, and manage student callers each semester. Manage phone interviews, conduct face-to-face interviews, and partner with Student Employment to make sure all students are eligible to work on campus. Submit all hiring and termination paperwork as needed. Training consists of a two-day intensive training program each semester. Create and conduct monthly performance reviews with each caller; includes handling caller termination and exit interviews as deemed necessary.
• Create and manage a budget for the Phonathon program, and manage vendor contracts, ensuring cost-effective and appropriate use of the program funds. Includes negotiating student salaries with Student Employment and managing all technical supplies necessary to run the program.
• Participate in crafting the yearly Annual Giving fundraising plan with the Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations and the Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations, with a specific emphasis on integrating the Phonathon program with all the solicitation and stewardship programs.
• Participate in Annual Giving and Donor Relations planning and strategy meetings. Provide input on the Phonathon and Student Philanthropy programs, give updates, and invent new strategies to enhance the overall Annual Giving and Donor Relations department.
• Work in Phonathon calling software to load prospect lists, build calling campaigns, write and deploy segmented calling scripts, analyze caller statistics, and ensure entry of accurate gift, pledge, and donor data updates.
• Supervise calling shifts. Oversee the student supervisors, assign callers to segments based on reviews and performance of each individual caller, create team goals, and conduct coaching and performance review sessions during shifts.
• Constantly monitor the ethos of the Phonathon program and team to create and execute a yearly motivational theme, creating ad hoc games and competitions (i.e. Fall Frenzy, March Madness, etc.) as needed to gain the best performance and productivity from supervisors and callers.
• Solicit local businesses to receive gift certificate incentives for Phonathon student workers.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations to produce Excel documents and other materials needed to appeal calling lists and program results reporting, write and execute mailing of all pledge and gift follow-up letters and fulfillment procedures, and assign work to the Annual Giving Student Assistant as needed.
