Summary

The Department of Human Services (DHS) Program Assistant is responsible for providing social services to program recipients and support for families. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Functions

Teaches and demonstrates living skills to clients, such as budgeting, cooking, menu planning, housekeeping, and child care. Transports clients and/or family members for medical, dental, educational, and counseling appointments. Aides clients in locating resources by contacting organizations or agencies for assistance. Summary

The Arkansas Department of Correction/Department of Community Correction (ADC/DCC) Corporal is responsible for maintaining security and directing the activities of inmates/residents during an assigned shift or observing the behavior of inmates/residents and documenting records as required. Functions

Provides job training, monitors the work activities of inmates/residents by guarding them while they are on work-release, maintaining inventory of all keys, tools, and equipment, and keeping a firm count of inmates/residents at all times. Conducts daily searches of contraband both inside and outside the facility. Manages specific programs, such as inmate/resident property, inmate/resident discipline and job training. Performs security checks of buildings and grounds. Searches inmates/residents and their living quarters. Summary

The Forester is responsible for supervising staff and managing and protecting the forests of assigned counties or multi-county areas. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.

Functions

Supervises a small staff of forestry workers by interviewing and recommending the hiring, training, and assigning of incumbents and evaluating performances. Examines and evaluates landowner's property and prepares timber management plans with recommendations for enhancing timber production, soil conservation, disease and insect control, and landowner objectives. Approves invoices and expenditures within assigned areas and maintains multi-county budget. Maintains forestry accomplishment data required for federal reimbursement. Provides advice and technical assistance to landowners enrolled in state or federal forestry cost share and grant programs. Ensures that silviculture practices are completed in compliance with program standards and scientific forestry practices. Plans and supervises forestry projects, such as determining the type, number, and placement of trees to be planted, managing tree nurseries, thinning forest, and monitoring growth of new seedlings. Analyzes effects of forest conditions on tree growth rates and tree species prevalence and determines the yield, duration, seed production, growth viability, and germination of different species. Directs or performs mapping, measuring, and marking timber in the area specified and computes volume for harvest. Directs fire suppression efforts by assigning fire crews and coordinates efforts with other organizations and with agency personnel. • Follow company work processes to receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or move directly to sales floor.

• Restock recovered merchandise.
