The Photography Department at Arapahoe Community College is accepting applications for part-time Instructors to teach Extreme Adventure Photography during the upcoming Fall 2021 semester. This course will meet on Mondays from 1 PM to 5 PM on the Littleton Campus.

Extreme Adventure Photography (PHO 259) introduces students to tools and techniques that will allow them to capture exciting, high quality professional images of a variety of outdoor adventure activities in physically demanding environments. Students enrolling in this course should be physically prepared to engage in extreme adventures. Examples include rodeos, rappelling, mountain biking, kayaking and white water rafting, rock crawling, or any other extreme activities. This course will take advantage of local events/competitions and outdoor activities during field trips. Other activities like skiing, snowboarding, fishing, water skiing, etc. may be explored.

The course competencies include, but are not limited to:

- Demonstrate creative image making in extreme conditions

- Demonstrate pan motion photography

- Demonstrate outdoor flash photography for high motion events

- Identify techniques to photograph in high places

- Apply personal and group safety

- Demonstrate professional equipment use of cameras and lenses for extreme environments

- Apply the ability to plan a shoot

- Apply base camp management

- Apply the ability to prepare for life on the road

- Identify the basics of webpage design for portfolio and client viewing

- Identify client expectations/types of photos & compositions expected for print publication

- Identify insurance and liability issues and business needs

- Demonstrate technical skills of outdoor activities. Basic technical skill might include backpacking, rappelling, snowshoeing, and water safety

- Memorize terminology and demonstrate technical skills related to the extreme adventure photography career field.

The instructor should bring their expertise in running their own business into the classroom.

Part-time instructors have the following responsibilities:

Classroom Instruction: Required to meet all class periods and start and end classes promptly. Teach assigned curriculum and make use of required texts and materials. Provide students with a complete syllabus on the first day of class that includes information on course description, objectives, assignments, grading policies, and contact information. Maintain accurate records of attendance and provide data on no-shows, last day of attendance, etc., promptly. Use technology to facilitate learning including meeting the required minimum standards for the use of the College learning management system Desire2Learn (D2L).

Student Assessment (Grading): Maintain updated and accurate grading records in D2L and submit all final grades by the due date in the college SIS system, Banner. Provide consistent and timely feedback to students regarding progress and grades on assignments.

Planning: Prepare for each class meeting and consider learning strategies that address diverse learning styles and a diverse community college student population. Class content and assessment methods should relate to course objectives.

Communication: Provide timely feedback to students using ACC email account for all College business. Check ACC email account and D2L email account (if used) every 24-48 hours during the class term and for at least one week after grades are submitted.

This is a Lecture/Lab (LLB) course paid per credit hour at a rate of: $1,030.34 for Level 1, $1,092.84 for Level 2, and $1,155.34 for Level 3. Medical insurance is offered to instructors and other variable hour employees who have worked, on average, at least 30 hours per week in a 12-month period. The Business Associate II position for the Child Support reception area acts as the first point of contact for current and potential customers. The Business Associate II is required to gather personal and confidential information from the child support applicant or visitor, and, if appropriate, the automated computer system to assess the needs of customers. To effectively assess and process customer’s requests, the Business Associate II is required to perform research using several different computer systems to obtain the solution and performs tasks associated with the solution. This position will not carry a caseload but is required to respond to walk-in customers daily.

Duties
• Provides professional, accurate, and efficient support or resolution for all customers and staff while adhering to County standards.
• Keep the supervisor informed of issues, events, or communications imperative to the day-to-day operations of the reception area.
• Accurately record and/or assign tasks or referrals in the Automated Child Support Enforcement System (ACSES).
• Perform demographic updates and provide customers with documents and information pertaining to requests for services, such as modification documents, payment records and applications for services.
• Enters summarized chronologies of conversations as well as contact information updates into the ACSES system.
• Handle escalated customers, document, and notify the appropriate team members through the ACSES mail messaging system.

Lead Records Management Clerk

Lead Records Management Clerk Team performs training and tracks state required trainings for the team. The role is responsible for team compliance with the State Office.
