System Safety Architect –New Vehicle Architecture for Software defined Vehicle
This vacancy is within Safety team of the MME MCU/MPU SoC Implementation organization, a central Physical Design group responsible for end-to-end Physical implementation of the sub-systems and SoCs for the Automotive Processors and/or Advanced microcontrollers in NXP.
The Safety team is seeking a safety architect with System or Software Safety architecture experience to define the new vehicle safety requirements and architects for next generation vehicle architecture. The candidate will be working closely with the Business lines and customer to define safety concept at system level and impact the safety architectures and safety enablement of NXP Future SoC.
Job Summary:
• Define system level safety concept, HW / SW architecture and associated ISO 26262 work products for the future Software defined vehicle architecture
• Engage effectively with OEM to build strong technical relationship on functional safety
• Define new Safety features and enablement to be implemented in NXP HW and SW products
• Support the safety HW & SW integration of NXP solution at the OEM
• Perform System level safety analysis (FTA, FMEA, FMEDA, DFA)
Key Challenges:
• Understand the different OEMs vision for future vehicle architecture and their impact on functional safety.
• Build deep expertise in Safety concept for Networking and SW Safety architectures to further enhance NXP offerings on Safety
• Engaging early with OEM on proof of concepts to successfully position on next platform
• Collaborate with various stakeholders BL AP, AA, CTO, Products definers, SW teams, SoC Safety architects
Cross functional aspects:
• To be successful, this role requires collaboration with various stakeholders:
• Business lines (AP/AA) product definer to define early safety concept
• SoC and SW Safety Architects implementing the HW and SW
• Customer facing (Sales, Marketing) to engage early with OEM
• CTO team to drive long-term innovation and System safety process assessment
Job Qualifications:
• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or other similar discipline with at least 7-15 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in one of the following: Vehicle Networking, SW Safety Architect, Vehicle Electrification or Autonomous driving.
Job location:
Austin, TX - This is a hybrid role which means 2-3 days in the office and the remaining 2-3 days at home. This role cannot be done 100% remotely, so relocation to Austin would be necessary.
