Arch is a pre-seed company on a mission to create a future of sustainable heating and cooling for all. Arch builds the software that enables society to transition to a world powered by heat pumps. We are backed by top-tier investors (Coatue, Floodgate, ReGen, MCJ), who also invested in Notion, Figma, Lyft, Tesla and Aurora Solar. The founders of Aurora Solar are also among our angel... investors.
We’re looking for a scrappy product builder who is impact driven and wants to define the engineering culture as one of our first hires.
Impact:
Residential homes are responsible for 18% of CO2 in the US. Heat pumps can drastically reduce these emissions. Our mission is to make sustainable heating and cooling technologies so accessible that the adoption becomes inevitable.
Requirements:
• Min. 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with solid exposure to the Node and React stack and their supporting frameworks
• You enjoy having exposure to every part of the product but particularly the front-end
• You have substantial experience in an early-stage startup (e.g. ex-founders, founding engineers, one of the first 10 employees, is a strong plus)
• You are driven by the urgency to significantly and quickly move the needle on climate change
• You are comfortable with uncertainty and rapid changes and you have an owner’s mindset
Who you will work with:
• Phil (Co-Founder & CEO) - Hi there 👋 I am Phil. I grew up on a small strawberry farm in Bavaria, Germany. I am a sports enthusiast and love to hike on weekends. I am eager to learn more about meditation and bio hacking. Before founding Arch, I graduated from Stanford with an MBA and a Master’s in Environmental Science, built large scale solar power plants (180+ employees) around the world and worked at McKinsey as a management consultant, helping software companies to exceed their growth goals. During my time in solar installation, I realized that I want to dedicate my career to things that matter. Ask me about: Favorite cafes and brunch spots in SF.
• Sacha (Co-Founder & CTO) - Originally from Belgium, currently living between Sydney, AU and SF. I taught myself programming very early. I hold a double M.Sc. in Engineering and Management. I love the intersection between engineering, design and strategy which naturally drew me towards holding “product” roles. I built a few companies – some complete misses (like a Tinder before Tinder while at Uni), some more successful (40+ employees, fast growth, ex-YC). I felt a strong urge to act on Climate while witnessing the devastating fire seasons in AU and CA. This led me to building an AI for first responders to identify zones of ignition within a few minutes to extinguish them ASAP.
• The entire Arch team! We are growing. As part of the interview process, you will meet all Archers 🏹 Show more details...
