Position Summary

Assists in the development and implementation of all Security policies and procedures, and security program that responds to business needs while ensuring the safety of all Museum properties and employees. RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supervise Security Officers
• Oversee staffing of all regular working hours, planned vacations, and unplanned absences.
• Monitor officer’s performance, conduct annual performance evaluations and employee disciplinary matters.
• Maintain employee files on discipline, commendations and conversations regarding performance, attendance and behavior.

• Assure that all Museum personnel and property are protected against a variety of risks and vulnerabilities.
• Maintain security presence in the Museum.
• Conduct internal investigations to prevent or respond to losses or other incidents.
• Serve in an on-call capacity during non-business hours.
• Ensure proficiency to provide personal protective services as required.
• Work with other departments coordinating activities within the Museum addressing the interaction of security functions in the activity.
• Must be prepared to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends.
• Implement a security program that is responsive and proactive.
• Review and Implement Department of Protection Services (DOPS) policies/procedures.
• Review/ Department of Protection Services (DOPS) operations manuals and share with the Director any information that is not current or may require review.

• Provide directional procedures for building occupants during emergency evacuation.
• Ensure timely corrective action in response to reported security incidents.
• Assist the Director, Museum Operations with internal and external clients.
• Administer security support systems (ID badge; lock/key control; electronics access control; etc.).
• Define, document, and monitor the removal of any Museum property.
• Maintain professional liaison with law enforcement and security organizations.
• Administer support for computerized scheduling and timekeeping systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• College degree preferred
• Must have at least 2-5 years working experience in security industry
• Experience in staff management required

RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Summary

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide leadership with regard to health and safety in the arts. Work closely with students, faculty, and staff to ensure a safe environment for the SAIC community. Conduct student project reviews for projects that may present a health or safety concern, and work with them to devise meaningful alternate solutions. Act as committee lead for several safety-related committees on campus. Focus on community outreach including collaborations with Exhibitions & Events and speaking with classes and academic departments about health and safety in the arts.
• Use discretion to organize and monitor, evaluate performance, review applicant materials, communicate job expectations, and assign and direct the work of the Science & Bio Arts Lab Manager for the Liberal Arts Department, and for the Bio Art Lab with the Art & Technology Department. Work closely with the Science and the Art & Tech Faculty to ensure that proper procedures are followed and the labs are functioning safely.
• Conduct or facilitate training for students, faculty, staff, and contracted employees in the areas of respiratory and medical fit test, bloodborne pathogens, first aid, asbestos awareness, PPE, hazardous waste and communication, fire extinguishers, and new employees safety orientation.
• Develop and maintain a current SDS database of materials used on campus. Work closely with department managers to vet and inventory materials. Research and approve materials requests for the use of new materials on campus. Oversee the collection and disposal of hazardous materials on campus. Manage communications.
• Conduct or facilitate testing and contracting related to equipment, resource, and constructions projects with regard to asbestos abatement, lead abatement, air quality, machine safety, and guarding. Prepare contracts for and with construction project managers, Risk Management, and Legal.
• Perform or facilitate assessments for students, faculty, and staff in the areas of ergonomics, materials safety, equipment and machine safety, and industrial hygiene. Perform inspections and audits on construction sites to ensure the safety of both contractors and the SAIC community.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The position is responsible for custodial duties to assure a clean, safe, building environment with a high appearance level.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Clean and keep entire restrooms at a high appearance level including, toilets, sinks, mirrors, windows, floors, trash containers, walls, and replenishing restroom supplies, and other areas as identified.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a diverse design portfolio, while demonstrating flexibility to address and execute a wide range of creative challenges. With a digital ecosystem that welcomes millions of users every year, the position requires expertise in digital practices, such as UI design, prototyping, responsive design, design systems, agile development, and an understanding of the basics of web technology. IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL

Design and maintain digital products for web and mobile platforms. The designer will add to the digital ecosystem with designs for UX and UI for the website, mobile platform, or in-gallery interactives. Building off the current digital platform, the designer will be responsible for developing site architecture, creating journey maps, prototyping the experience, providing specifications to the developers and conducting quality assurance of the final product.

Conduct research and develop conceptual strategies. The designer will be responsible for researching design inspiration, interpreting creative briefs, and generating concepts and design direction that successfully interpret the goals for exhibitions, printed material, campaigns, brand work, and UX/UI for digital properties. The designer may also collaborate with researchers across the organization to better understand business or learning objectives.

Ensure a consistent and effective design process. The designer will supervise the creative process from concept to final production, supervising the execution of assigned projects and taking responsibility for quality control of finished work. Leveraging AIC’s in-house creative process, the designer will help set expectations with stakeholders, advocate for the creative vision, manage milestones, and communicate phases to the team.

Deliver authentic and original creative work. Supporting the brand and the museum’s dynamic programming, the designer will use a rich visual vocabulary that finds the best solution for the design challenge. The Art Institute has a unique voice and identity and the designer is responsible for achieving the creative excellence associated with our brand.

Contribute to, and expand upon, the brand’s visual language. The design team should be equipped with an expansive visual vocabulary that finds the best solution for the design challenge. The designer helps to cultivate a language that includes (but is not limited to) iconography, illustration, interactives, infographics, gifs, timelines, maps, typography, color, page harmony, conceptual diagrams, and time-based media.

Facilitate design thinking with stakeholders. The senior designer is a leader in the department and drives the problem-solving process from beginning to end. As a confident and compassionate collaborator, the designer partners with many different stakeholders. The designer may use design thinking tools to synthesize the expertise of diverse teammates into solutions that satisfy the museum’s goals while making for the best experience for the end visitor or user.

REQUIREMENTS
• 5 years in a professional design environment, ideally with experience in the non-profit or cultural sector. Bachelor’s degree or higher in design or related practice preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage creative processes.
• Excellent communication skills. Whether through written or visual language, a proven ability to communicate ideas economically and effectively.
• A digital portfolio that includes work for web, mobile, and tablet.
• Identity design portfolio that covers multiple formats, such as print or environmental.
• Software skills: Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Figma or Sketch for digital design. In-depth knowledge of resources for typography, color, and grid systems. Light familiarity with 3D tools, such as Sketchup, is a plus.
