AoPS Academy brings our unique problem solving curriculum to students at 12 physical AoPS Academy locations across the country and one Virtual Academy. Academies offer engaging and challenging courses in Math, Language Arts and Science, designed to stimulate young minds. Associate Directors are motivated educators who are responsible for supporting campus operations to ensure the delivery of a high quality program. They are experienced instructors who may be building their management and leadership experience, are eager to learn and ready to assist the Campus Director in whatever tasks are needed.
We are looking for a new Associate Director - Mathematics to help lead our Carmel Valley campus. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong subject knowledge in Math and have outstanding classroom management skills. Exceptional communication skills and pedagogical instincts are needed not only to teach our advanced curriculum, but also to coach and collaborate with other instructors.
Responsibilities & Duties:
• Teaches math (K-12) classes on a weekly basis.
• Participates in the hiring and training of part-time staff.
• Assists with the campus’s administrative and logistical operations.
• Meets with prospective families to assess and determine a student's academic ability and overall fit for the program.
• Counsels current students and families as needed to provide student support.
• Responds to customer emails and phone calls.
• Helps design and implement campus community building activities.
• Additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
• A bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field is required.
• Minimum 1-year teaching experience, preferred with K-12 students.
• Comfortable interacting and communicating with both students and parents.

Work Schedule
Since AoPS Academy is an after-school program, most of our classes and family meetings occur during the evenings and on weekends. As such, it's expected that Associate Directors work a nontraditional schedule during the academic year. During the summer, Campus Directors and Associate Directors typically shift to a more standard Monday to Friday work schedule.
Benefits
The starting salary for this position is $70,000, with an annual bonus based on campus performance. Opportunities are available for cost of living raises and promotion to Associate Director II and Senior Associate Director. This position includes health insurance, dental insurance, a 401K retirement plan, and paid time off. We also provide a relocation bonus for candidates living outside the greater area.
