Job Overview:
SmartChoice is seeking a diligent, motivated, and enthusiastic Staff Accountant that will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. Supervisory responsibilities will include overseeing day to day operations of AR, AP and carrier orders.

You will be responsible for…
• Supporting month-end close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, credit card reconciliations and variance analysis in compliance with US GAAP standards with adherence to a tight close calendar
• Assisting in month-end close process including recording accruals, preparing journal entries, and reviewing General Ledger transactions for proper expense classifications
• Assisting with weekly bank & general ledger reconciliation
• Assisting with preparation of internal financial reporting package to Department Heads
• Reconciling W-9 information and review annual W-9 reports for all employees and vendors.
• Performing analysis of travel and expense accounts
• Working with vendors, ensuring they are in compliance with vendor set-up requirements and troubleshooting issues with processing of invoices.
• Answering vendor inquiries and research payment issues to ensure account balances with vendors are current.
• Coding all invoices, facilitate invoice approval process, and maintain vendor files.
• Perform other ad hoc duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
What education & experience you’ll bring...
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience
• Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles in the U.S.)
• MS Office proficient with intermediate Excel skills
• Experience with QuickBooks a plus
• Telecom related experience a plus
