The ideal candidate in this position is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Claims Compliance & Quality Assurance Team to ensure proper compliance with state and federal regulations and quality review practices including but not limited to, compliance with company standards and industry best practices for Accident & Health and Voluntary Benefits .Reviews practices and processes to ensure sustainable, measurable, continuous process improvement at the individual and department level, while consistently meeting internal control standards. Reviews and tracks claim quality reports and measures performance of analysts. Develops compliance and quality assurance policies and procedures. Provide coaching and identify training needs, as well as staff development and assist with staff questions. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met while adhering to approved budgets. W orks closely with the Compliance Team to assess compliance risks and controls and implement and communicate new regulations that affect claims.

In this role, you will…
• Set direction and manage the efforts of the Claims Compliance & Quality Assurance Team to ensure validity, accuracy, and timeliness of compliance and quality initiatives in accordance with plan documents and state and federal regulations and guidelines.
• Adherence to internal key performance metrics.
• Identify Operating Plan goals that are beneficial to the company and ensure deliverables are met;
• Work collaboratively with the claims department by providing detailed analysis of claim review trends and insights to ensure continuous process improvement.
• Supports carrier audits.
• Conducts hiring, employee performance reviews, promotions, retention and termination activitiesin consultation with Management and HR.
• Perform risk analysis, determine root cause, and recommend corrective action.
• Coach others and encourage them to take ownership of their development.
• Manage all aspects of compliance & quality assurance processes; including but not limited to planning, control evaluation, testing methodologies, reporting and issue follow-up.
• Identifies continuous process improvement opportunities that results in quality claim handling.
• Develop and cultivate collaborative relationships with all levels of management.
• Keep current with benefits and regulations that affect claims handling.
• Detailed understanding of State/Federal insurance regulations and mandates.
• Work with Legal and Compliance in implementing new and/or existing regulations utilizing regulatory system.
• Development, execution, and auditing of Claim related compliance items (e.g. risk assessment, testing & monitoring of key regulations, policies & procedures, assist with exam preparation, issue reporting and escalation, training program, corrective actions).
• Participate in recurring compliance meetings.
• Manage and review claim related compliance reports to ensure accuracy.
• Management of escalated issues and/or problems.
• Manage gathering claim documentation for market conduct exams.
• Participate in recurring compliance meetings.

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field or 7+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4+ years of health care regulatory compliance leadership or related experience.

Reports to the Sr. Manager of IT Audit & Security. The Cybersecurity Assurance Analyst will be responsible for ensuring IT systems and procedures are secure, compliant with HIPAA, SOX, and HITRUST, and aligned with industry best practices. They have experience in EMR, IAM, IGA, and access review tools, with strong analytical skills for identifying and addressing security risks. The Cybersecurity Assurance Analyst collaborates with teams to ensure compliance with evolving security policies and workflows, focusing on access vulnerabilities. They assist in documenting governance processes and designing policy for approval workflows, privileged access management, and lifecycle management. Additionally, the Cybersecurity Assurance Analyst supports the design, implementation, and refinement of SOX-related controls, user access reporting, and quarterly audits.

Primary Duties
• Assist with regular audits of user access controls, including reviewing user access requests and access logs, and producing audit reports to ensure that access is appropriate and in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with implementing and revising identity governance policy using IGA tools and technologies to ensure that privileged/admin access and non-privileged access are appropriately differentiated, with an emphasis on SOD analysis and controls.
• Design, implement, and test SOX controls related to user access and data security, with a focus on compliance with SOX and other relevant security regulations.

SOX CONTROLS/AUDITS

• Strong understanding and experience with Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) solutions, such as SailPoint, Saviynt, or RSA Identity Governance, to manage access requests, entitlements, certifications, and compliance.
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, and PCI-DSS, as well as regulatory compliance frameworks, such as HIPAA, HITRUST, GDPR, CCPA, and SOX.

APPLICATION (Applications, Database, Interfaces)
• Basic knowledge in securing a three tier application architecture.

Communication - In a professional, courteous and timely manner, communicate with necessary internal and, as needed, external parties in order to successfully complete daily requirements of quality assurance measures for various servicing departments.

Must be able to discuss findings of quality assurance reviews with the Quality Assurance Supervisor, Department management and staff within the various departments to ensure compliance with internal servicing goals and external servicing requirements Direct Loan, FFELP / Cash loan, Borrower Defense, LS-P and CLS-P.

Provides actionable data to various internal support groups as needed. Identify and track issues and recommendations for broken / outmoded processes and provide to appropriate business owners.

Procedures - Author and maintain quality assurance / control procedures governing the facility quality event system and ensure compliance with industry regulations, customer expectations and company policies.

Participates in design of call monitoring formats and quality standards.

Reporting - On a daily basis, report all activities regarding productivity and accountability to supervisor. Uses quality monitoring data management system to compile and track performance at team and individual level.

Prepare and analyze internal and external quality reports for management staff review.

Knowledge Gain a solid understanding of Contact Center counselor responsibilities and expected performance requirements for handling both Inbound and Outbound customer calls.

Additionally, gain a solid understanding of the various processes and procedures within all servicing departments. Additional knowledge in the processing of external correspondence via borrower correspondence and secure e-mails from customers along with understanding of various processes will be required.

This knowledge gained will allow for successful quality assurance / control audits of all areas.
• COMPASS Servicing System - Understand the COMPASS servicing system as it relates to DL and FFELP / Cash loan, and contracted loan servicing and the various quality control audits performed.
• CLX Servicing System - Understand the CLX servicing system as it relates to DL and FFELP / Cash loan servicing and the various quality assurance audits performed.
• Meetings - Participate in various departmental and MOHELA operational meetings as designated by the Quality Assurance Supervisor;

coordinates and facilitates call calibration sessions for call center staff. This will provide for a better understanding of department process and procedure changes as well as an understanding of challenges facing each department to allow for more effective audits.

Data Analysis Review phone, email, and personal letter data as well as address catalogued issues, processes, and observations in order to identify customer service enhancement opportunities in order to ensure consistency of performance across interaction channels;

perform proactive reviews of internal processes in order to provide recommendations and evidence to aid in company strategy.
• Understanding Student Loan and other Federal Regulations - Demonstrate ability to understand and apply complex regulations pertaining to the servicing of Federal student loans.
• Collaborative Coaching Participate as needed in the Collaborative Coaching initiative to in the facilitation of on the job training and mentorship for new hires;

facilitate discussions regarding call handling and written correspondence expectations as necessary.

• Ensure the compliance of dome parts and assemblies to contractual requirements by performing close inspection of work product quality through drawings, processes, mil specs, and work instructions.

o Confirm manufactured parts match engineering documentation.

o Confirm 3rd party sourced parts match engineering documentation.
• Perform inspections and witness tests of outgoing materials to identify quality problems. Assist in the documentation, control, and disposition of non-conforming materials.
