Job Summary
The CT Technologist I perform procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. Operates CT Scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency. This equipment includes scanner, post processing stations/programs, IV contrast injectors, O2 and suction equipment, patient transport and patient monitoring equipment.
Essential Functions
· Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient. Refers and questions orders to the Radiologist before performing exam. Contacts ordering provider when there are discrepancies.
· Properly identify (Using two patient identifiers) and assist patients while offering a brief explanation of the procedures. Prepares patients for the procedure with a full explanation and documents on appropriate worksheets.
· Interviews patients for a complete medical history. Reviews in-patients, ER, and outpatients EMR’s to obtain pertinent clinical history. Records medical history on requisitions. Correlates other test results and laboratory data with exam being performed.
· Assumes responsibility for the exam from beginning of exam until completion of dictated results.
· Prepares and administers IV contrast according to departmental protocols. On request, records contrast type and amount.
· Evaluates technical quality of images and consults with a Radiologist if needed. Recognizes abnormal anatomy and processes any additional, reconstructed images, and/or measurements as instructed.
· Performs basic patient care functions. Informs appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in the patient’s condition. Initiates life support measures for patients when necessary. Assists in “code blue” procedures during medical emergencies.
· Performs CT scanning and assists Radiologist/PA during invasive procedures. Practices proper sterile technique in the preparation of necessary supplies. Performs all invasive procedures in accordance with bloodborne pathogens, isolation, and infection control policies and procedures.
· Is authorized to obtain medication or contrast material as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner.
· Practices principle of radiation safety for self, employees, patients and family members. Follows appropriate radiation safety standards
· Reports malfunctioning equipment to the department director/manager/supervisor and clinical engineering/radiology engineer.
· precautions. Maintains knowledge and skills required to work safely in an environment that can create significant exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious disease.
· Adheres to the hospital fire and safety procedures. Attends all in-service classes and completes all required safety modules.
· Performs work in an accurate and timely manner in periods of crisis and emergency situations where time is critical. Rotates shifts as required including call back, holidays, and weekends. Adheres to the Atrium Health attendance policy by being punctual and taking measures to prevent absences.
· Operates radiology computer system to include entering orders and charging procedures/supplies. Documents contrast administration in the MAR.
· Maintains assigned work area in a neat and orderly fashion. Keeps area completely stocked. Cleans all work areas to promote cleanliness in the workplace.
· Assists other medical personnel, such as anesthesia, when performing exams or services in conjunction with a CT scan.
Physical Requirements
Requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment and supplies. Occasional standing, walking, and sitting during normal operation. Frequently may be required to stretch, bend twist, squat or kneel in the daily operation of the CT department. May be exposed to various physical conditions throughout the day such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, being near moving equipment. Required to use radiation safety guidelines to prevent exposure to ionizing radiation.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology required. Job Summary
Performs a variety of patient care duties and other professional activities as needed to facilitate patient care and treatment. Performs under the supervision of a radiology technologist. Assists in monitoring the flow of patient activities in the department.

Job Summary:
The function of the Interventional Radiology Technologist is to assist in the various invasive Angio, and interventional procedures performed in the Interventional Radiology Suite. Requires standing and walking while wearing 10 to 15-pound lead radiation protection aprons. Exposure to radiation, secretions and blood. Confined working area. Normal vision, manual dexterity and good eye and hand coordination is necessary to operate equipment. Constant concentration required during procedures.
Education, Training, Experience:

With the changing payor environment, they will also be required to provide support in assisting the site-based medical directors and providers in understanding and adhering to contractual agreements/requirements. • Responsible for actively identifying any problems within the sites, resolving those problems at their level to the best of their ability, and communicating this to the Specialty Medical Director.
• Participates as a highly collaborative member of the Specialty Medical Director’s team – sharing best practices and providing support to the other ASMD’s.
• Assistant Specialty Medical Director should spend at least one half-day (4 hours) on-site with each of their sites, at least twice per year to directly observe the ‘flow’ of the practice environment.
• Assistant Specialty Medical Directors will meet with each of their direct reports one-on-one at least twice per year. Review site-based and individual provider performance standards, goals & metrics with every site-based medical director on at least a quarterly basis – more frequently if a specific site is not meeting expected performance or is experiencing other challenges.
• Assistant Specialty Medical Directors will be responsible for preparing for and running a monthly meeting with their Site-Based Medical Directors. The focus of this meeting is to serve as a link in the Representation, Communication, Engagement & Accountability monthly meeting cascade. The agenda of this meeting will be not only be to (1) communicate organizational imperatives but also to (2) proactively obtain feedback and representation from the site-based medical directors.
• Another critical function of this leadership meeting will be to focus, in-depth, on the performance update/status of the various Performance Factors which have been outlined. In concrete terms, this will require a review & evaluation of the actual performance, at the level of the sites & providers, with a discussion around countermeasures.
• The ASMD will be required to be facile in utilizing the data reporting tools and to be able to access real-time performance data, for review, during these meetings. This active review of performance against expected performance with a discussion of countermeasures will be the cornerstone function of this meeting. The supervising Specialty Medical Director will assist the ASMD in creating the agenda for these meetings; and the administrative counterpart for the ASMD will assist in prepping for and facilitating this meeting. It is expected that these meetings will occur 10+ times/year.
• Another purpose of this meeting will be to recognize and appreciate high performance from the Site-based Medical Directors and providers.
Minimum Requirements:
• Must be BE/BC in Bariatric Surgery
• Have at previous experience as an MBSAQIP site Director/Section Chief of Bariatric Surgery
Physician Recruitment and Orientation
• Participate in individual physician recruiting within their area, on the front end of the recruiting process in introducing the candidates to the system.
• Serves as a resource for practice affiliation discussions and assists in assimilating physicians into the system
Physician Leadership and Professionalism
• Models Atrium Health values and leads by example to improve physician/APP relations within the site
• When necessary, assists Site Based Medical Directors in their role as arbitrator for physician/provider concerns including serving as a mediator between peers, staff and administration
• Responsible for the supervision and the annual self-assessment process for site-based medical directors in their specialty. The ASMD will provide both a written evaluation as well as an in-person evaluation with their assigned site-based medical directors.
• Assist group based medical directors in strategic planning and execution to achieve organizational goals.
• Serves on system committees or task forces, as required.
• Fully assists, as requested by site-based medical directors, in conflict resolution and performance improvement planning for specific providers, as well as in disruptive physician/APP behavior.
Anticipated Time Commitment
Time allocation is based on scope of responsibility and can vary from 20%-40% time and the expectation around time commitment will be identified up front and reviewed annually. Administrative time may not be backfilled with clinical time (unless the site where the director practices has an urgent need for coverage/access periodically).
Note: Twenty percent time is equivalent to 1 full day/week, 30% is equivalent to 1.5 days/week and 40% is equivalent to 2 full days/week.
Compensation
The administrative stipend is determined from a specialty specific benchmark for physician admin time per hour plus a maximum potential bonus incentive for the achievement of goals. The administrative base salary will be established prospectively based on the estimated number of administrative hours required and paid monthly. The bonus will be paid annually in Q1 of the following fiscal year.
Annual Performance Evaluation
An annual performance evaluation is required for this position. Job Summary
Performs mammographic procedures under the direct supervision of a radiologist. Operates mammographic equipment with proficiency, utilizing radiation safety practices and departmental protocols to produce a high quality examination.
Essential Functions
• Verifies patient ID armband and validates proof of identity.
• Reviews patient mammography medical history and correlates prior mammograms to ensure the correct examination is being performed.
• Performs digital imaging acquisition and recognizes factors that affect image acquisition, display, archiving, and retrieval.
• Evaluates technical quality of images and consults with a radiologist if needed.
• Assists radiologist during invasive procedures and practices proper sterile technique in the assembling of necessary supplies.
• Reports malfunctioning equipment to the department supervisor. Performs troubleshooting and minor repair procedures under the direction of clinical engineering.
• Maintains patient records to include completing orders correctly, charging exams and supplies and verifying correct exam was sent to PACS.
Physical Requirements
This position requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment and supplies. Must be able to push, pull, and lift weights of up to 600 pounds with assistance. Requires frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending and lifting. Required to stretch, bend, twist, squat, and kneel in the daily operation of the Mammography department. Exposure to various physical conditions such as walking on hard surfaces and climbing stairs. Able to adapt to changes in temperature and humidity. Required to use radiation safety guidelines to prevent exposure to ionizing radiation.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA and ARRT approved program in Radiologic Technology required. The R.T. must have met the federal mammography training requirements as specified in the Mammography Quality Standards Act of 1992(MQSA). ARRT and advanced certification in Mammography is required.
