We provide fire protection and advanced life support EMS service for over 24,000 residents over 17.4 square miles. Due to the heavy industrial/commercial makeup of our city, the day time population can rise to over 100,000 people. The department responds to over 4,000 calls annually. AHFD is currently ranked Class 2 for their Public Protection Classification (PPC) as concluded by a third-party evaluation by the Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO). This classification puts the Auburn Hills Fire Department in the top 2% of all fire departments across the state. AHFD is continually working to improve the City's ISO rating by improving fire suppression services and departmental effectiveness to create a safer community for all. General Purpose: To ensure compliance in Fire and EMS reporting for Federal, State, and Local laws, rules, regulations, and standards including but not limited to Oakland County Medical Control, State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and Auburn Hills Fire Department rules, regulations, and standards. General Purpose: The Part-Time Park Maintenance Technician shift runs 5 days per week 7:00am-1:00pm. The position will utilize manual labor, hand-tools, power tools, equipment and machinery to perform a variety of tasks to keep our parks clean and well-maintained. Additionally, the Park Maintenance Technician will interact with park visitors providing professional and courteous customer service, enforce park rules, and support the city's programs, activities and special events.
Schedule: Permanent part-time.
(1) Shift: 7:00am to 1:00pm five (5) days a week.
(2) Shift: 3:00pm to 9:00pm five (5) days a week Must be flexible to work a combination of weekday shifts which may run 3:00pm to 9:00pm and weekend shifts taking place between the 7:00am to 9:00pm timeframe (afternoon shifts will vary depending on seasonal daylight hours).
Preferred Qualifications:
(A) Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
(B) Combination of education and experience which would demonstrate ability to perform the work
(C) Computer skills sufficient to send and receive e-mail, make entries into computerized work order system from a mobile device, fill out electronic forms, and open/view attachments such as schedules, training bulletins, and other communication
(D) Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time; willingness to work outside in all types of weather
(E) Skill in operation of some of the listed tools and equipment, including appropriate computer skills
(F) Ability to work safely; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
(G) Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, departments and the public; must possess proven integrity; ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
Pay Rate: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on qualifications.
