Audible is searching for an exceptional Senior Economist to join our economics team. The Audible economics organization works across the business to measure and maximize the value Audible delivers to customers, creators, and communities globally. In this role, there will be a focus on partnering with our product teams to create and measure new ways for customers to access our catalog of audiobooks and spoken-word entertainment, develop new mechanisms to generate value for creators, and optimize content distribution and monetization. Basic Qualifications
• PhD in economics or equivalent
• 3+ years of industry experience post-PhD
• Fluent in mathematical foundations of statistics, machine learning, and economics
• Experience delivering meaningful business impact for customers based on rigorous quantitative analysis

Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of causal ML methods, such as high-dimensional models, double/debiased ML, causal random forest, matrix completion methods
• A record of research publication in journals or speaking at conferences in an economic field such as Industrial Organization, Mechanism Design, or Applied Microeconomics
• 2+ years of experience in using economics, data science and ML to inform pricing, investment, development, or distribution of digital media content
• 2+ years of experience working with cross functional teams, including with product managers, software and data engineers, or financial analysts

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Establish and continuously update the vision and strategy of the Audible discovery roadmap on Amazon retail.
Improving existing touchpoints and proactively identify new areas of growth for Audible to enable discovery of the Audible catalogue on Amazon retail.
Partner with UX to define good outcomes for qualitative testing, ensuring we are building the right experience for a diverse range of intents.
Influence technical teams to harness relevant modeling inputs for various customer facing applications to drive towards a business goal.
Drive product development from conceptualization through launch creating actionable plans, work streams and deliver tactics for new product features.
Write market, functional and system requirements documents and ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements to business and development teams.
Create plans that have clear, measurable success criteria.
Regularly review metrics and proactively seek out new and improved data/mechanisms for visibility.
