Position Overview
Autodesk is looking for a content leader to drive planning and execution of thought leadership content that supports Autodesk campaigns for senior decision-maker audiences globally. In this role you’ll bring your passion for journalism and storytelling together with your drive to create content that provides real value and insight for executives and business leaders, building awareness and preference for the Autodesk brand, solutions and services.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned content producer with thought leadership marketing chops who can work across teams to plan, produce, and publish a rich array of insights-based content that is worthy of executives’ time. As part of a content center of excellence and as a member of the team that creates Autodesk’s original thought leadership research reports, you’ll work alongside colleagues who generate insights to assemble them in creative ways and in modular formats that are designed to be atomized for maximum impact and engagement.
The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work across a matrixed organization to tap the knowledge of internal experts and influence key stakeholders and leaders. You have a customer-first mindset and can bring their perspective into content strategy discussions with marketing colleagues who need fuel for their outreach. You’re a dynamic presenter who is comfortable interacting with executives and customers. You’re a scrappy, nimble team member who enjoys integrating the newest trends in best-in-class content into an evolving function. You’re results-oriented—fluent in the ways content can create business impact and skilled at aligning it with Autodesk’s messaging.
This role can be remote if the right candidate lives outside of one of Autodesk’s main North America offices in San Francisco, Portland, Denver, Boston, Montreal or Toronto.
Responsibilities
• Turn insights into actionable reports for senior decision maker audiences and determine ways to slice and dice those reports into consumable formats to foster understanding and engagement
• Conduct continuous intake with colleagues across the organization to determine their needs and insure they are met with best-in-class content whose themes align with Autodesk messaging
• Understand the needs of the executive audience and ensure content is of a caliber to command their attention
• Work with colleagues to design qualitative and quantitative questions for research projects that will generate insights valuable to executive audiences
• Ability to roll up your sleeves creating content as well as work with colleagues and agencies to develop content in different formats
• Create a content strategy for account-based marketing clusters that includes content designed modularly to optimize personalization
Minimum Requirements
• 8+ years of experience in journalism and programmatic content publishing
• Experience in working with research and creating long-form reports based on research that are designed to be broken apart into shorter, more skimmable formats or pieces relevant to particular audiences
• Familiarity with content activation, distribution, and other methods of ensuring content finds its audiences—including SEO
• Proven experience with content marketing and audience nurturing to attract and engage executive audiences
• Clear, concise writer, editor, and content producer with the ability to nurture that skill in others
• Experienced at setting goals, defining workloads, managing calendars, and reporting on outcomes
• A content distribution mindset, including familiarity with common content activation, distribution, and engagement methods
• Excellent problem-solving skills and comfortable operating in ambiguity and blazing new paths
• Comfort in leading creative agencies and building / managing freelance contractor network
• Confidence communicating across an ecosystem of influencers, stakeholders, and teams
• Strong communication skills to foster transparency and inspire collaboration
