• Ensure that all documents are accounted for.
• Accomplish the forecast that has been establishes by the general manager and service manager.
• Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner. Let customers who are waiting in line know that they will be helped soon.
• Schedule appointments using dealership approved forms.
• Obtain customer and vehicle data.
• Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers' specifications, using maintenance menus (if applicable).
• If additional work is needed, explain the details to the customer, including the additional cost and time considerations.
• Indicate on repair order the exact repair instructions, making vehicle in. Repair orders must be legible.
• Provide estimates for labor and parts. If the cost of service cannot be established during reception leave open and contact the customer later, by phone, for approval.
• Establish "time promised." Check with person responsible for work distribution, if necessary.
• Obtain customer's signature on repair order; provide customer with a copy.
• Follow up progress of each repair order during the day. Contact customer by telephone regarding any changes in the estimate or time promised. Record changes on repair order in approved fashion.
• Handle telephone inquiries regarding work in process and appointments.
• Deliver vehicle to customer and answer any questions.
• Keep Quick Pricing Guide, Signals Checklist, Maintenance Menus, and other service department forms up-to-date.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations.

The Huffines Automotive Express Lube Technician performs light maintenance repairs for vehicles as assigned by management following industry standards and best practices. The primary duties include using industry-standard shop equipment and tools to perform minor repair work or routine maintenance on customer vehicles.

• Receive repair or service job from dispatcher, advisor, or team leader.
• Perform a diagnosis and report back to advisor with work that is required and await authorization.
• Review vehicle history file and any factory bulletins that apply to vehicle make and model, paying special attention to outstanding campaigns.
• Make notes regarding proposed and additional work on hard copy or technician terminal.
• After authorization, request any parts required from the parts department and return any parts that have been requested to be saved by the customer or factory.
• After parts are received, complete required authorized repairs and create notes on the hard copy or technician terminal.
• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair.
• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts. Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• If required, perform test drive, and restore vehicle to original condition making sure that it is clean.
• Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
• Inform dispatcher, advisor, or team leader of the job completion and make any final notes regarding suggested additional work.
• Keep informed of all safety guidelines of management and other agencies, especially the disposal of hazardous waste.
