The BI and Office Application Specialist role provides technical expertise to IT Senior Manager for Customer and Billing, Project Managers and BI Director throughout the lifecycle of BI and Back office projects and will be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of a common development methodology and processes (standardize on tools such as JIRA), including BI data warehouse, Billing and invoicing (AVUS), Salesforce (CRM), Great Plains (GP) etc., that will be used across multiple back office platforms.

Responsible to outline the detailed application level architecture and design for review and approval by the Enterprise Architect team. Responsible for liaising with the architect team to ensure architectural integrity and consistency between systems and business processes thereby ensuring a scalable, high performing environment.
Key Areas of Responsibility
• Lead the definition, design and implementation of common methodology and processes for BI and Back office applications. This can include testing methodology, refresh frequency and methodology for sandbox and non-production environments to enable accurate regression testing, using tools like JIRA for ticketing and workflow between development teams.
• Lead solution designs and fully document architecture proposals and high-level design documents for approval by the Architect team as per Trader governance policies and standards. Help design coding standards along with the Architect team and ensure consistent adoption by developers in BI and Back Office.
• Ensure architectural consistency and coherence between systems and business processes through systems analysis & design, modeling, integration planning, technology and component selection. Conduct configuration and code reviews mentoring and coaching the team’s internal resources or providing objective feedback to consultants and development partners to ensure proper execution of projects.
• Support the technology to be used in Trader BI and Back office Project, and BAU activities, managing a clear technology roadmap to ensure platforms stay current and in line with market force skills.
• Provide assistance to the IT Senior Manager, Project Managers and BI Director in the estimation process for effort required for business deliverables and provide input into the development of Business Cases.
Required Skills:
• Ability to interface with technical experts in Online and Mobile platforms

Required Experience:

• Provide expertise on how to build scalable and automatable platforms which can serve AutoTrader and its subsidiaries.
Data Solutions Architect requires experience with the following:
• Experience with both Azure and GCP technology stacks
• Business intelligence, query, and reporting tools
• Data Warehouse / Data Lake / MDM architecture principles
• Data integration and streaming integration concepts and architecture
• Database design for read-only access
• Data warehousing design issues such as star schema
• Data warehousing technologies such as OLAP (including ROLAP, MOLAP, and HOLAP)
• Data transformation and conversion
• Data quality issues resolution
• Architecting for Mixed workload and scaling
-Data Modelling for Data Warehousing / Data Lakes (Denormalized – Star & Snowflake -Schemas, Data Vault)
• Parallel execution
• Indexing and statistics strategies
• Code Reviews & Coaching for developers
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and attributes:
10 or more years of progressively responsible experience in information/data management roles in a best practice environment where the power of data is being unlocked and well used in support of driving business and customer decisions.
A passion for data backed by a solid technical skill set that includes expertise in information management, data warehousing, big data and business intelligence concepts and methodologies.
• Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to understand and deliver on what the business requires of information management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; confident, credible and personable; can translate technical information effectively into business terms and vice versa.
• Good judgment to determine which creative ideas will work and how they will work; knows how to make the appropriate fact-based business case; not afraid to take calculated risks.
• Well-developed influencing skills; able to quickly demonstrate understanding and empathy while winning people over to a new way of seeing things.
• Excellent change management abilities: the ability to drive for results tempered with an appreciation for organizational structures, processes and history.
