Summary:

The IT Assistant (Part Time) will assist the IT Manager in supporting and maintaining in-house technology equipment and IT assets, as well as provide Ave Maria Press employees with technical support. This role is part time, and required to be onsite at our office for (25) hours per week, Monday-Friday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the IT Assistant (PT) will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Performs daily maintenance such as changing daily backups tapes, ensuring that picking slips printed, creating/maintaining a log of "system" failures, ensuring overnight reports have run, etc.
• Assists in installing, configuring, diagnosing, repairing and upgrading corporate hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal performance
• Performs monthly scans and updates on equipment

2. Troubleshoots problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion

3. Maintains asset management database

4. Provides technical support to Ave employees by researching and answering questions, troubleshooting problems, and maintaining workstations and applications.

5. Writing and maintaining documentation for procedures for using Ave IT equipment

6. Participates in development and implementation of IT training programs for Ave employees by identifying learning issues and ensuring employees are trained accordingly.

7. Prepares old equipment to be retired

8. Assists IT Manager with all other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

· Associate Degree, Certification or related experience is preferred

· Computer hardware and software support experience.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office application

Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, type and perform data entry, visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information, ability to hear in order to answer telephones and to communicate verbally, and the ability to sit for extended periods of time.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed indoors with minimal safety hazards, and requires seated, standing, and movement work.
