Description

We are searching for a talented AWS Cloud Architect to help lead the architecture and development of our AWS Cloud environment. You will play a strategic role in architecting, securing, and aiding in the development of all cloud systems including the front-end platforms, servers, storage, and management networks.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud computing and technology systems, as well as experience designing, transferring, and securing applications to the cloud. Cloud Architecture and Design and Engineering (60%)
• Demonstrate knowledge of AWS cloud architecture and implementation features with a focus on security (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability).
• Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps tool chains and processes.
• Build and design Infrastructure as Code for AWS tenant.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to the organization for cloud architecture, including AWS, and potential future providers, security, networking, provisioning, and management.

Thought Leadership (10%)

Mentoring (10%)

Qualifications/Requirements:

Responsible for leading and engaging in transformation projects including the Enterprise Information Architecture (EIA), information models and flows, designs, etc...

What you will do:
• Strong understanding of cloud computing solutions across the Enterprise having hands-on technical expertise with implementing and managing AWS cloud platforms per Federal government compliance guidelines (FedRamp)
• Experience working as a customer facing consultant and/or subject matter expert (SME) on AWS cloud technologies (VPC, ECS, RDS, Code Repository, EC2, ELB, S3, etc.)
• Will lead architecture discussions and proof of concept buildouts for customers.
• Experience with Enterprise Infrastructure tools and technologies and will transform Data Center tools to more efficient and effective Cloud Based Management and Monitoring tools
• Develop solutions to migrate applications from data center Windows and Linux platforms to AWS
• Demonstrated technology and strategic business acumen, as well as, the ability to engage in Senior-level Technology decision-maker discussions related to the business value of Cloud Services and Implementation of Customer Business Solutions
• Will document and articulate to senior leadership the architectural design changes, tool decisions, automation needs and transition risks in a changing environment
• Will drive a technical team to provide ongoing cloud support through Cloud native reporting, operational procedures across network, storage, tools, operating systems environments, and adherence to security compliance

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree and 16 to 18 years of experience; a Master’s Degree and a minimum of 14 years of experience; Additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree
• Experience with software development tools and methodologies, including typical Enterprise Application Architectures
• At least 10 plus years of experience with AWS design & AWS native tools
• Demonstrates experience in running complex projects
• Experience building sophisticated and highly automated cloud infrastructure
• High level of skill communicating effectively across internal and external organizations
• Demonstrates ability to lead and facilitate technical discussions and ability to present information to executives, IT Management, and Technical Teams
• Must be a US Citizen
• Ability to obtain High Risk Public Trust, level 6C

Preferred Qualifications:
• Secret Clearance
• AWS certification(s)
• Demonstrates ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
