Overview

Responsible for sales and retention activities for BCBSM and/or BCN which includes planning, strategizing, benefit consulting and administration to increase individual and/or Medicare agent/broker written business within a specific geographic region. Accountable for developing relationships with agent clients, providing sales support and necessary training to agents to support retention and growth in the agent channel.

Responsibilities
• Provide sales support and training to agent channel to support retention and growth of agent written business.
• Determine the decision-making process, personalities and relationships of agent clients to support the development of sales strategies and the acquisition individual and/or Medicare business in the agent channel.
• Provide in-person support as well as digital support to agent partners.
• Speak to large groups of agents to support training and sales support.
• Coordinate with internal teams to provide agent partners with necessary sales and marketing materials.
• Document relationship activity with agent partners in Salesforce (the customer relationship management tool) to ensure proper tracking and information is shared with leadership and the sale team.
• Prepare a variety of sales reports, action plans, presentations, proposals, sales contracts and schedules.
• Identify follow up new leads and referrals from field activity.
• Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategy on target groups in accordance with accepted sales practices and methods.
• Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate staff members.
• Recognize the needs of the client and incorporate solutions into specific proposal materials.
• Partner with internal teams to identify/resolve client concerns.
• Monitor and communicate to management information related to, clients, prospects, as well as benefits, competitive products, rates and trends. Make recommendations to change this information as necessary.
• Complete and send plans and/or reports to management accurately and promptly as necessary.
• Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, telemarketing events and various forms of community relations to support positive corporate and marketing images.

Requirements
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field preferred.
• Four (4) years to six (6) years experience in related field with two (2) years of concept sales experience.
• High degree of technical knowledge of all benefits, billing, competitive programs, distribution systems, methods, policies, procedures, rating, regulations, selling process and underwriting as it relates to sales and marketing.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, decision-making, presentation, problem resolution, sales, verbal and written communication skills.
• Well developed forecasting, organizing, planning and scheduling skills.
• Proficient in current industry standard PC applications and systems.
• Possess tact and resourcefulness in establishing and maintaining effective internal working relationships.
• Ability to persuade and influence others while maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company public image.
• Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.
• If an employee is selling as part of the duties and responsibilities of this job, the following licenses are required within 90 days of the employee’s start date or the license expiration date: Valid Michigan Accident and Health Insurance License.
• Valid Michigan driver's license required.
• Moderate to extensive travel to business locations required.
• Must meet local and/or national sales and marketing sales competencies as required.
