Essential Job Functions:
• Work within an MRP environment to ensure material availability for production requirements.
• Communicate with suppliers regularly regarding purchase order requirements.
• Maintain a high level of data integrity to ensure accurate supply chain information.
• Actively manage inventory dollars to ensure appropriate levels.
• Develop supplier partnerships and participate in the supplier management process both locally and at the corporate level.

• Manage supplier performance in the areas of delivery and quality to support the plant goals for on-time delivery, and zero backorder.
• Understand GMP regulations, especially as they relate to materials control in the manufacturing environment.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities such as cost reductions, quality improvements, and supplier consolidations/reductions.
• Assist and/or lead in the CR (Change Request) process.
• Participate in new product introductions and project teams.
• Provide a participative support role for teams.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
• Strong functional knowledge of Microsoft Excel, inventory, and purchasing systems.
• Ability to read component specifications and drawings.

Preferred Qualifications:
• CPIM/CPM preferable.
• Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.

Education and Experience:
• Associate’s Degree with at least 2 years of experience in Purchasing, or
• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Purchasing.
• In lieu of a college degree, must have 5 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment using MRP, preferably in medical industry.

Physical Demands:

Regular typing and computer work performed daily. Requires occasional light physical effort (e.g., prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping reaching and/or lifting of light items - up to 5 lbs.).

Work Environment:

This role will be responsible for leading the development, establishment and maintenance of Quality Assurance and Engineering programs, processes and controls during design, development, and transfer; ensuring that performance and quality of new products in the dispensing business conform to product requirements, established standards and regulations, and exceed customer expectations. This position leads a platform new product quality team and is charged with defining and executing superior Quality practices, in accordance with The BD Way and Quality Management Systems, for:

Design Assurance and DFX programs - Design Quality Engineering, including sustaining design change activities, Software Quality Engineering (embedded, applications and analytics), Cybersecurity, Risk Management, Verification and Validation activities, Reliability Engineering, Human Factors, Test Method Development and Validation Safety Assurance Case practices

The position will be a member of the Cross-functional Dispensing Hospital Platform Team and as such they and team leadership will represent the interests of Quality and Compliance.

This leader shall be proficient in the development of design process requirements and leading the core team through the necessary diligence and decisions related to conformance to those requirements throughout the new product development life cycle.

Design Excellence—While quality principles are well-founded in the industry, the position is responsible for identifying superior processes to enable compliance and suitable product quality levels. Critical-To-Quality initiatives will be the driving force behind focusing this team on the critical characteristics of Dispensing Hospital products.

Responsibilities
• This leader must develop strategic quality programs to oversee and foster: Design changes, New Products, product enhancements, material changes, software creation and maintenance and represent Design Controls expert-level leadership and guidance for a dedicated team.
• This role is a highly matrixed and influential role having responsibility for a specific portfolio of dispensing hospital products’ design and development quality practices. As such, this leader must be mature in their understanding and execution of:
• development of teams including succession planning
• organization design and deployment,
• cross-functional influence and negotiation, and
• broad organizational change management.
• Define and influence a quality culture that enables both rapid transformation of ideas to requirements to products and diligent and deliberate compliance to internal quality management system requirements in design and development.
• Platform-wide authority and accountability for developing, deploying, and maintaining a robust and compliant quality management system for the design, risk management, and ongoing life-cycle maintenance of BD products.
• Actively identify improvements to the processes within the QMS to enhance both compliance and quality.
• Provide expert-level understanding of design control requirements and how to deploy them in a large-scale and rapidly evolving business.
• Provide Design and Development leadership during FDA and Notified body site inspections.
• Interface with the FDA on Pre-Market Activities: Design Controls, Risk Management, Test Methods, Safety Assurance Case, Human Factors
• Acquire and develop leaders and teams to support new product platforms and actively manage bench-strength and succession planning.
• Represent the Quality Function in all product planning activities, such as the Platform Development Team (PDT)
• Identify Quality Initiatives to address field Quality issues, define prevention mechanisms for future development projects and lead cross-functional teams to complete them.
• Provide diligent and fact-based communication to Executive Management team, peers, and team.
• Assess resource needs to align the required level of quality support provided when needed with suitable competencies, including shifting resources between Platforms when appropriate.
• Maintain effective design-related Quality Metrics and define and execute activities to improve performance. Actively support and demonstrate the BD values in daily work.
• Effectively partner with R&D to define deliverables and troubleshoot technical issues. Engage with (or may lead) quality networks as well as the business unit and associates toward the effective promotion and alignment of organizational goals to the company’s mission and vision.
• Ensure effective design transfer between development and manufacturing
• Serves as Quality Program Leader for complex new product development projects. Ensures successful development, verification, validation, and transfer of design. Requirements

Previous software coding experience in the medical device industry highly preferred.
• Requires a minimum of a BS degree in science, engineering, or relevant discipline
• At least 10 years of experience managing Quality Engineers in a Design Assurance Organization
• A least 15 years of engineering experience in the Medical Device Industry supporting Class II/III devices or medical technology
• Prior leadership experience in capital equipment medical product with broad experience with complex, electromechanical, and software devices
• Demonstrated expert-level knowledge of Design Controls, Design for Six-Sigma, Critical-to-Quality strategies, Risk Management, Cybersecurity, Safety Assurance Cases, and Human Factors, etc.
• Demonstrated knowledge in Software development lifecycle, including familiarity with embedded software and firmware, applications software and analytics; knowledge of cybersecurity process for medical devices is highly desirable.
• Ability to travel up to 25%
• Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to deliver excellent results
• Strong project management, team skills, and influential management also highly desired
• ASQ certifications CQE, CSQE, CRE, CMQ/OE, CSSGB and/or CSSBB highly desired.

Position Summary

Responsible for the development and administration of the EHS, Facilities, Operations, and Security Management Systems for the BD Interventional UCC Covington/Madison facilities. Ensures compliance with all local, state, federal, and country regulations as well as corporate EHS requirements. Collaborates with all local management leadership and associates to enhance, develop and sponsor programs intended to implement and promote the continuing safety, health, and security performance of the Covington/Madison BD campus locations.

This position reports to the Director of Operations/Sterilization with dotted line to the EHS Manager-UCC Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities
• Displays the desire and demonstrates the potential to increase responsibilities in EHS as BD continues to grow as an organization.
• Utilizes systems to track and report EHS performance metrics/scorecard to BU Operations leaders; Engages site Operations leaders on EHS matters to ensure a strong culture of associate safety and environmental management.
• Conducts technical reviews and determines impacts for process changes, capital projects, new product development, and equipment modifications for facilities and operations.
• As needed, fulfills the role of inside project manager, ensuring project goals are met within time frame and budget allotted and oversees construction project activity.
• Conducts/Leads process safety hazard analysis/hazard and operability studies (PHA/HAZOP) for applicable processes and any future process changes.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with all OSHA PSM and EPA RMP regulations for BD facility programs.
• Additionally conducts hazard reviews for all process controls, projects, and any process changes for UCC Covington/Madison and as required for other BD divisions.
• Tracks and authors all required governmental compliance reports to complete and submit timely as required by the respective agency or BD permit documentation.
• Leads a proactive individual based safety program, identifies and establishes leading indicator safety goals for Division facilities and develops programs to promote a strong safety culture in alignment with BD Global EHS Safety Compliance, Management & Performance Improvement activities.
• Responsible for overall site security for the Covington and Madison campuses to include C-TPAT compliance, Workplace Violence System, site security guards (contract or employees), and life safety system compliance.
• Acts as liaison with local emergency response including police, fire, or other emergency services.
• Serves as the BD site incident tracking & management system super user for UCC Cov/Mad plants and assists other Divisions as needed.
• Works as liaison with the EHS Manager-UCC Business Unit related to EHS policy and programs. Assists EHS Manager-UCC Business Unit with developing corporate EHS standards and with auditing UCC locations as required. Conducts detailed incident analysis and investigation for all HIPO / Severe incidents and provides relevant bulletins/communications to division as needed.
• Keeps up to date on all current and pending environmental, health and safety legislation and regulations as well as insurance company requirements. Identifies all applicable regulations (Corporate, Country, Federal, State, and Local) and ensures facilities have procedures and programs in place to adhere to these regulatory requirements.

Educational Qualifications & Previous Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management or Occupational Safety and Health or related degree. At least 5 years of experience managing EHS at the site level.
• Experience designing and implementing strategies/programs/processes that supports a business strategy.
• Experience leading PHAs and/or HAZOPs and conducting EHS Project Reviews.
• Experience in lab, manufacturing and warehouse environments.
• Proficient in OSHA, PSM, EPA Regulations, Building Codes, experience preparing and submitting environmental permits and forms.
• Proficient and experienced conducting EHS audits preferred.
• Proficient and experienced in developing and implementing EHS management systems.

This role will lead the overall global marketing function for Specimen Acquisition, a $850M+ Global Platform. The primary emphasis of the job function is to develop & execute the global strategy for the Platforms largest product portfolio (wingsets) while supporting the other global marketing manager for the other product portfolios (needles, devices, and ABG).

The incumbent will be accountable for providing critical input into new product development, innovation strategy, portfolio management, including portfolio strategy, developing, and executing marketing plans, P&L management and developing marketing competencies within the worldwide and regional teams (across all product portfolios).

The role reports to the Specimen Acquisition Platform Leader. The role establishes and maintains a strong competitive position through the identification of market opportunities, geographic portfolio expansion, creation of new claims, building evidence generation plan, and development/execution of portfolio optimization strategies.

PRIMARY DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:
• Together with the Platform Leader, sets direction for short- and medium-term strategy development (incl. ASR). Accountable for executing marketing activities to ensure the achievement of expectations related to short- and medium-term strategy development.
• Develops and presents the Annual Global Marketing Plan and aligns with regional product marketing plans to ensure the achievement of financial/budget expectations and product line strategies.
• Contributes significantly to the development of innovation roadmap, encompassing new products, line extensions and new product claims. Establishes global launch plans for both new products and line extensions.
• Supports PDT, PLM, quality and compliance programs for the wingset product portfolio.
• Establishes performance standards for marketing team members by coaching, mentoring and providing ongoing direction, training and development to other team members.
• As a functional leader and member of cross-functional teams is accountable for the achievement of key business goals (KDGs and KPIs) and financial goals.
• For the wingset portfolio in particular:

o Responsible for monthly demand forecasts and quarterly financial forecasts.
o Responsible for global pricing strategy to achieve market share objectives within relevant profitability bounds (margin expansion goals).
o Ensures effective handling of all global quality & product supply issues
o Supporting long-term portfolio strategy, identifies growth opportunities and potential concepts.
• Establishes, implements, and maintains "best practices" in brand marketing and new product development.
• Compliance with all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations/policies/procedures.

The mission of the US Region Commercial Operations Team is to enable commercial strategy and drive profitable sales growth by exceeding customer needs and improving customer experience in the areas of contracting, sales operations, business analytics and operational excellence.

Medication Management Solutions (MMS) is seeking a Human Factors Engineer to focus on Human Factors and User Experience Design (HF+UXD). The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about design for user experience with proven capabilities in visual design, information architecture, and interaction design for both standalone software and integrated software/hardware solutions. They have a passion for interacting with customers and doing user research to drive the human factors engineering process.

This individual will work as a member of a multidisciplinary team on key programs and initiatives across MMS, using evidence-based tools to drive user-centered product development principles proven to reduce risks, minimize development costs, and improve market acceptance of solutions.

The HF+UXD will work within the MMS User Experience Design Team (UXD). The goal of the UXD Team is to stimulate and lead concept and technology innovation spanning multiple product platforms including Dispensing Technologies (e.g. BD PyxisTM & BD RowaTM) and Infusion Systems (e.g., BD AlarisTM & CME Ambulatory Systems). The role of HF+UXD within this group is to bring knowledge and expertise in user-centered design that begins with the initiation of programs and transitions into design and development. The HF+UXD will have the opportunity to engage in numerous MMS product development programs across the business groups.

Responsibilities:

The HF+UXD engineer will serve as a key contact to MMS project teams for human factors engineering and user experience design – engaging in product design work and independent review, including the following:
• Apply creative problem-solving strategies and techniques to get tactical, innovative, and disruptive ideas launched.
• Seek to create the best possible product or service for our customers by finding the sweet spot between customers’ needs, business constraints, and technical capabilities.
• Able to understand business goals and link them to design directions and product architecture and advocate for short-term solutions that support long-term product visions and business strategies.
• Lead brainstorming and ideating sessions, report outs to stakeholders, and innovation research
• Conduct Task Analyses, Usability Audits, and Cognitive Walkthroughs, analyze results, and provide recommendations to product teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with interface designers, engineers, the marketing team, and business leaders to define detailed designs that meet customer needs and to motivate teams to seek, utilize, and apply customer insights throughout the product and service lifecycle.
• Advocate for user needs and drive design recommendations based on usability standards and best practices.
• Lead planning and execution of formative and summative usability studies to evaluate current and future products.
• Analyze data and compile study findings for multidisciplinary teams of designers, engineers, and product managers across the company.
• Author HFE documentation needed for creating Usability Engineering File for regulatory submissions according to the requirements of medical device regulators around the world (FDA HFE Guideline, IEC 62366, ANSI / AAMI HE75).
• Establish relationships with third-party vendors for usability study recruitment and coordination.
• Manage human factors activities across various projects and provide schedules and status to management.
• Participate in cross-functional core team meetings to ensure usability requirements are met.
• Develop and evangelize a culture of design that is focused on the experience of the user and patient.
• Teach human factors processes and understanding of our customers to cross-functional project teams as well as leaders and less-senior human factors engineers.
• Present and advise on human factors topics across the organization.
• Without appreciable direction, take responsibility for directing and coordinating all human factors activities necessary to complete a major product development program or several small projects.
• Lead efforts to develop processes and procedures that align with FDA/international human factors standards.
• Provide technical supervision to less experienced human factors engineers and may be responsible for the management of a small workgroup.

Skills:

Required:
• 10+ years of experience in product development with the application of Human Factors Engineering to product/system design in a regulated environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Human-Centered Design, Cognitive Psychology, Industrial Design, or related discipline preferred. A Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of applicable standards and industry guidance for medical devices and usability engineering including IEC 62366-1, FDA Guidance for Human Factors (2016), IEC 62366-2, HE75, ISO 13485, FDA Guidance for Design Controls, & ISO 14971.
• Proven track record developing and executing usability studies including creating a research plan, overseeing recruitment, moderation, analysis, and creating/presenting final reports.
• Experience in HFE principles and methodologies (ergonomics, human-computer/machine interface, data collection, data analysis, etc.).
• Experience in applying human factors techniques on programs across product lifecycle (user research, prototyping, formative & summative product evaluation, etc.).
• Experience in planning and conducting usability studies (formative/summative) and performing use-related risk analysis.
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed (domestically and internationally), approximately 10% of the time.

Preferred:
• Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in a technical field (human-computer interaction, systems engineering, human factors engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial design, or biomedical engineering preferred).
• Highly motivated self-starter able to achieve results with minimal guidance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas on multiple levels.
• Strong creative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong technical judgment, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong facilitation and analytic skills with an open mind.
• Proficient knowledge of engineering first principles.
• Working understanding of the End-to-End Product Development Process.
• Proficient in at least one of the following to support innovation, design, and development:
• Sketching or Graphic Design
• 3D Modeling, Drafting, and Physical Prototyping (SolidWorks Preferred)
• Wireframing and Digital Prototyping (Adobe XD and Axure preferred)
• Technology Development in areas such as but not limited to Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering
• Demonstrated creation of new concepts and Intellectual Property (IP).
