ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Monitor students primarily during meal and recess periods in and around the following areas (including but not limited to): lunchrooms, playgrounds, bus stops, parking lots, crosswalks, or classrooms when teachers are unavailable.
• Engage students when playing at lunch or recess and during school activities.
• Report conditions that are hazardous to the health and safety of students.
• Assist students in conflict mediation/solving problems; reinforcing school agreements governing proper behavior of students.
• Report ongoing conflicts to site or district administration.
• Monitor and observe or scan assigned target areas.
• Perform light cleaning duties such as wiping down tables and benches in meal areas both indoors and outdoors.
• Assist students as needed in opening lunch items when necessary.
• Maintain order in and around indoor and outdoor meal areas.
• Assist with school-wide activities including but not limited to: Picture day, Vision/Hearing Screening, etc, to maintain the orderly and efficient movement of students to/through/during the activity.

BENEFITS (FOR PERMANENT EMPLOYEES): Health plans provide for full coverage for employees and family in the area of medical and dental insurance to a negotiated maximum. All employees who work an average regular assignment of less than 5-1/2 hours a day (.72 FTE or less) shall be entitled to health insurance coverage and dental insurance coverage on a pro-rated basis. This position is covered by Social Security and may be eligible for California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), with joint employee and employer paid contributions. Current members of CalPERS working in other California state, county, city, and school districts can transfer retirement service credit to the District. All employees are enrolled in an Employee Assistant Program (EAP). The District also offers various optional benefits including life insurance, short term disability, Vision Service Plan (VSP), and a medical and dependent care flexible spending option.

VACATION: Regular, non-management, District employees shall accrue vacation as follows:

1-3 Years: Ten (10) working days per year until he/she has completed four (4) years of service.

4-9 Years: Fifteen (15) working days per year until he/she has completed ten (10) years of service.

10-14 Years: Twenty (20) working days per year until he/she has completed fifteen (15) years of service.

This position is covered by Social Security and may be eligible for California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), with joint employee and employer paid contributions. Current members of CalPERS working in other California state, county, city, and school districts can transfer retirement service credit to the District. All employees are enrolled in an Employee Assistant Program (EAP). The District also offers various optional benefits including life insurance, short term disability, Vision Service Plan (VSP), and a medical and dependent care flexible spending option.

VACATION: Regular, non-management, District employees shall accrue vacation as follows:

1-3 Years: Ten (10) working days per year until he/she has completed four (4) years of service.

CITRIS is a four-campus institute comprising the Berkeley, Davis, Santa Cruz, and Merced campuses of the University of California. CITRIS Health has launched two large new projects in the rapidly expanding digital and telehealth sphere and requires an Administrative Coordinator to help coordinate them. Details on the two projects:

The Lighthouse program is a targeted response for vulnerable older adults residing in congregate living settings through the development and implementation of a rapidly deployable and scalable program that provides telehealth, internet accessibility and digital literacy training to improve access to health care services and communication, ultimately leading to improved health, engagement, information, safety and well-being for older adults. The ACTIVATE Program (Accountability, Coordination, and Technology In the Valley to Achieve Transformation and Equity) was launched to rapidly design and deploy an innovative, evidence-based, sustainable telehealth program that will benefit vulnerable populations in rural and agricultural communities, and that can be easily replicated and scaled across California and the US. This project provides an actionable, measurable, and proactive set of solutions to address many of the health/mental health challenges encountered by vulnerable populations in rural and agricultural communities due to the COVID-19 crisis.

The Administrative Coordinator plays a critical role in the successful day-to- day operation of CITRIS Health to ensure the success of its research and development projects and activities. This position provides a high level of administrative support to the CITRIS Director Health, Associate Director Health as well as support for all CITRIS Health initiatives. The CITRIS Director Health and Associate Director Health will also rely on the incumbent to manage calendars, administrative tasks, documentation preparation and management, event support, and basic financial tasks for CITRIS Health. The position requires balancing multiple, often simultaneous, activities and the ability to prioritize work to ensure that tasks are completed on time. Departmental Overview

The UC Berkeley UCSF Joint Medical Program (JMP) is an accredited, five year Master of Science/Medical Doctorate Program. JMP students spend 2.5 years at UC Berkeley engaged in both Master of Science research and pre-clinical foundational sciences through problem based learning and clinical skills development. After the completion of a Masters in Science degree at Berkeley, JMP students transition to the UCSF School of Medicine for their final 2.5 years clerkship years. The Administrative Manager helps the JMP achieve its vision and mission through creating and maintaining systems that help the JMP run efficiently and effectively.

The School of Public Health (SPH) is a large and complex professional school at UC Berkeley, with a mission to improve population health, especially for the most vulnerable, through interdisciplinary collaborations, preeminent education, and transformational research. The School is comprised of six academic divisions and 30 research centers and programs, with over 200 faculty, 120 academic/research staff, 155 management/professional/ administrative staff, and 285 student researchers/instructors/workers. The School offers a core MPH degree with nine areas of study, along with five MA and MS degree programs, a DrPH and five PhD degree programs, and five concurrent programs with other UC Berkeley schools and colleges; in addition, the School offers a joint degree with UC San Francisco. Departmental Overview

The School of Public Health (SPH) is a large and complex professional school at UC Berkeley, with a mission to improve population health, especially for the most vulnerable, through interdisciplinary collaborations, preeminent education, and transformational research. The School has six academic divisions and 30 research centers and programs, with over 200 faculty, 120 academic/research staff, 155 management/professional/administrative staff, and 285 student researchers/instructors/workers. The School offers a core MPH degree with nine areas of study, along with five MA and MS degree programs, a DrPH and five PhD degree programs, and five concurrent programs with other UC Berkeley schools and colleges; in addition, the School offers a joint degree with UC San Francisco. The School launched UC Berkeley's first on-line degree program in 2012 and is rapidly expanding the program to reach a wide range of domestic and international audiences through online degrees, certificate programs, and executive education. The School enrolls approximately 575 graduate students per year, as well as educating roughly 440 undergraduate students through an upper-division public health major. The School's more than 13,000 graduates can be found working throughout the world, in both the public and private sectors. Responsibilities

Academic Advising:

Monitor graduate students' academic progress, counsel and assist with retention efforts in the Doctor of Public Health and Interdisciplinary. Track and review academic progress and advise students and faculty on program requirements, procedures, problems, and administrative issues for degree/program completion. Identify graduate students not making good academic progress and report back to Faculty Academic Advisor(s) for interventions. Responsible for interpreting campus policies and advising graduate students and faculty on student conduct, student grievances, disputes, and issues regarding discrimination in collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Students. Serve as a liaison and key contact person between the faculty and graduate students, Graduate Division, and other campus units.

Recruitment and Admissions:

Advises prospective applicants on necessary academic preparation; appropriateness of the program as it pertains to the prospective applicant's goals; initiates and arranges graduate student recruitment visits to Berkeley. Advise international applicants on unique requirements for admission. Plan and implement the applicant evaluation process at the program level for two rounds of admissions. Advise faculty committees regarding application requirements, timelines, and fellowship criteria; keep committees on track to meet School and campus deadlines, coordinate organization, review files, and ensure confidentiality.

Enrollment:

Ensure program graduate students are properly enrolled, registered, fees paid, that blocks are cleared, manage waitlist, update the roster and inform faculty/instructors on new cohorts during the academic year. Advise graduate students on enrollment policies & procedures, and process add/drops. Within the School of Public Health provide, and make recommendations for the improvement of the graduate student experience in-person and online. Work with faculty and the various Faculty Academic Advisor(s) to support our graduate student population. As the primary contact for the Programs, triage and process graduate students' requests for course withdrawals, course switches, and/or additional course enrollments. Coordinate with the SIS/Registrar's Office accordingly.

Financial Aid:

Oversees the administration, evaluation, and awarding of student fellowships, grants, scholarships, and other awards. Advises graduate students on financial aid options of the organization and extra-mural fellowship opportunities.

Event Planning:

Assists with planning and executing annual commencement, orientation, and spring visit day for the School of Public Health.

Program Administration:

Schedules faculty meetings and keeps minutes for the meeting. Updates the DrPH alumni list that is used for outreach events and annual retreats. Assists program directors to organize alumni retreats and other social functions. Organizes fall and spring semester student check-ins with Directors and inputs advising notes in Calcentral. Manages the publication of a bi-weekly newsletter that includes student interviews, funding, job postings, university deadlines, etc.

Professional Development:

Representation of DrPH/Interdisciplinary in bi-weekly Student Student Services & Student Affairs Resource Group and monthly Graduate Division GSAO monthly meetings. Attend conferences and belong to professional organizations - UCB campus-wide, UC system-wide UC Academic Advising Conference (UCAAC), and/or national student affairs organizations National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), and American Public Health Association (APHA).

Required Qualifications

3-5 years of working experience in higher education. Working knowledge of graduate student advising and counseling techniques. Knowledge of and/or ability to learn University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences. Familiar with professional student populations, academic program development, and operational management in a higher education setting. Familiarity with and/or ability to learn higher education systems, policies, and organizational structure. Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem-solving, identifying measures of system performance, and the actions to improve performance. Ability in problem identification and reasoning; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems. Interpersonal skills. Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse groups of staff, faculty, and student populations. Experienced with running large multi-dimensional programs in a timely and effective manner. Comfortable working independently while managing relationships with external contributors and stakeholders (e.g. BPH, Grad Div, Alumni). Organized, determined, and driven by results. Comfortable with leading a team and/or an idea through at times not so linear processes. Knowledge of program development, data gathering, assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting skills. Technical and digital literacy is a must.
