Performance Marketing Specialist

Job Summary:

The Performance Marketing Specialist will be an experienced and analytical team player. This person will be responsible for optimizing performance channels spanning paid search, affiliate marketing, promotions, among other options. This person will analyze and implement overall and channel-specific strategies, having accountability for meeting volume and efficiency targets (i.e., delivering against target ROAS and margin targets). Reporting to the VP, Business Analytics, this person will deliver analysis, reporting, projections, and implementation for the performance marketing channels.

Essential Functions:

· Collect and analyze web metrics, such as visits, transaction volume, revenue, conversion rates, cost per acquisition, and profitability for various marketing campaigns

· Responsible for tracking and for analytics for all online marketing campaigns

· Responsible for optimizing margin contribution from affiliate-related sales. This includes working with any third-party platforms and vendors to manage and optimize the affiliate program.

· Work with ecommerce marketing team and analytics team to ensure a data-driven approach to all marketing campaigns.

· Work with ecommerce marketing team, software development team, and analytics team to ensure a data-driven approach to all website improvements and enhancements to improve user experience and drive new customer acquisitions and retention of current customers.

· Provide analysis of and implement the Company’s paid search strategy to achieve Company growth targets while maintaining sustainable margins. This includes working with any third-party vendors contracted to oversee ad campaigns.

· Provide analysis of and implement the search engine optimization (“SEO”) strategy for betterworldbooks.com to continually improve the Company’s organic search ranking. Responsibilities include managing keywords, optimization, link building, URL building, mobile optimization, and staying current with the constantly changing search landscape.

· Develop and report to leadership KPIs for the website. Work with analytics team to develop dashboards and reports to improve visibility to website and customer metrics.

· Analyze complex data and understand nuances of the product data, tech stack, attribution, and what needs to be done to optimize channel performance.

· Model performance marketing scenarios and project future performance for executive discussions.

· Identify areas for process improvement and work cross-functionally to implement updates and changes to the marketing tech stack as needed.

· Implement campaigns from initial planning to development, launch, and reporting

· Work with analytics and marketing teams to optimize third-party marketplace channels through the planning and implementation of promotional and advertising campaigns

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Understanding of key performance indicators for ecommerce success and growth.
• Advanced understanding of Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Google Merchant Center, Google Tags, and other Google products essential to website growth and monitoring.
