Bike Builder-General Responsibilities
• Assemble and tune new bikes to a high standard of quality and with high productivity, following these steps:
• Pull unpacked bikes from a staging rack in a sequence dictated by standard priorities or by short term model specific needs
• Carry the bike to a bike repair stand and workbench
• Mount the bike in the stand.
• Run cables, mount various components, true wheels, adjust brakes and drivetrain, check fasteners and make the bike ready to ride.

Looking for mechanics who want to problem solve and work in a fun, fast paced shop. We're an independent, year-round bike shop located between Vail & Beaver Creek, in Eagle-Vail, Colorado. We specialize in high end mountain, road, and electric bikes, and sell Trek, Scott, Cervelo, and Salsa. Responsibilities Include

Complete tune-ups, repairs and diagnosis of minor and major repairs

Suspension service

Assemble new bikes

Quality check builds and repairs

Wheel truing and wheel building

Diagnose wear and damage on bikes to give accurate estimates to customers, and educate them on and which repairs are essential or recommended

Maintain service tickets on Ascend Retail Software with detailed records on all work performed

Educate customers on how to use and maintain their bike and any additional products they may need

Provide excellent communication with customers in our shop and over phone, text, and email

Requirements

Technical knowledge of bicycles

Positive and flexible attitude with strong desire to do exceptional work

Proven critical thinking and collaborative skills

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include bending, lifting bikes, standing for prolonged periods

Shop hours: Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm May through October

Compensation DOE: $20-35/hour

November through April (off season) we open an hour later, 11am-6pm and on powder days we open at 2pm. We're open to a mechanic that likes the powder day schedule, or someone that would be committed to opening our shop at 11am consistently.

Year round positions are full time March through October with flex hours November through February, depending on shop hours and needs. Significant room for growth at our shop as you get to know our customers and products. Benefits upon completion of the trial period include annual bonuses, employee pricing on bikes and equipment, health care, and a flexible schedule. BCycle is looking for an energetic, self-motivated bicycle technician to join the team. This role primarily works in BCycle's Boulder shop repairing and building new BCycles for riders. Technician Responsibilities
• Maintaining and building BCycle Electric bikes
• Performing bike in-field inspections, repairs, overhauls, and cleaning
• Observing bike repair and cosmetic standards set by Lead Technician
