Responsibilities
• Contribution to the evolution of our AWS infrastructure by applying the principles and practices described in the AWS Well-Architected Framework
• Defining appropriate metadata for all our AWS resources
• Implementing improvements in IAM, computational resources, data archiving, monitoring and alerting, network configuration, and other resources
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues in our AWS environment
• Writing, publishing, and disseminating standard operating procedures and guidance for the team
• Automating deployment, lifecycle management, and failure recovery for our AWS services and environments
Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and experience with Git and GitHub AWS Architect, DevOps, or Developer Certification, or equivalent knowledge and skill preferred Solid knowledge of one or more general programming languages (C++, Java, C#, Go, Python) Working knowledge of networking and security Demonstrated understanding and practical ability in the use, configuration, and troubleshooting of Linux and mixed OS environments, including installation, shell scripting, and patch management Understanding of and ability to configure and use containerization environments Ability and willingness to create quality documentation Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Work well as part of a team in an exciting, fast-paced environment

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, biology, or similar field preferred.Alternatively, equivalent experience and knowledge may qualify in lieu of degree. Track record of contribution to open-source projects Working knowledge of R Understanding of database systems, including a working knowledge of SQL Experience in bioinformatics or statistics Understanding of the academic research environment
