As a Product Manager for the VMware Application catalog, you will work with prospects, customers and internal stakeholders to define product requirements and product strategy. You will co-ordinate and direct all activities that move the product through various stages from inception to launch.
This position will enable you to apply your technical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
You should have a basic knowledge of infrastructure virtualization and application containerization concepts.
A basic understanding of the development, security and operational roles and responsibilities within virtualized and containerized production environments is beneficial.
You should be comfortable discussing popular technologies used in the development and management of Cloud Native Applications.
You should be comfortable presenting and discussing information technology solutions with platform architects and other IT management stakeholders.
Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
• You will have a solid understanding of product capabilities and the ability to articulate the product's value proposition.
• You will be able to effectively present and demonstrate the product to prospects and customers.
• Establish strong collaborative relationships with engineering and technical program management — with an appropriate level of push-pull that’s part of any healthy product team.
• You will have created a prioritized backlog of new validated product features that are being executed upon by engineering.
• You will be interacting with key customers and prospects to gather feature product ideas.
• Have a deep knowledge of the competitive landscape.
• You will have formulated a product vision that will increase customer value and increase market share.
