Responsibilities:
The Data Stewardship Team is responsible for ensuring the data needs of BlackRock and the clients of BlackRock Solutions are fulfilled with accurate, complete, and timely data.
As a VP of Data Governance on the Data Stewardship Team, you will support a growing area in a multifaceted and exciting environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
• Lead Implementation of data governance through enterprise level Data catalogs, data entitlement frameworks and data quality tools for different data assets
• Build, implement and socialize processes that support Governance of data, influence teams to adopt the process and expand the depth of governance function
• Understand and build solution that supports data usage based on license and entitlements for both Blackrock and Aladdin clients for all data assets
• Define roles and responsibilities, Establish, manage and keep current the ownership model of data at all times
• Enforce data standards with businesses for each data category and help build reusable Business Glossary for each category
• Manage working groups and governance forums by data category
• Partner with engineering on data model and testing workflows to keep metadata repository, business glossary and Quality inventory, current
• Serve as a liaison between vendors, business, and engineering team to implement the capability roadmap working closely with data customers both internally and externally.
• Stay abreast of new and evolving business requirements and market trends in order to align our data capabilities and content with business needs developing and continuously improving and expanding coverage of capabilities by monitoring progress through KPI’s
• Provide data solutions, insights and expertise in response to changing business needs, market events, regulatory change and new financial products.
• Data stewards are required to profile and analyze data to ensure content meets business requirements while being compliant with the various dimensions of data quality as outlined in our data quality standards.
• Design data quality checks and performance metrics to assess data health and detect deficiencies and improvement with our data sources or internal data processes.
• Active engagement with key product partners to ensure client data experience is aligned and going above and beyond
This function will expose the Data Steward to a wide range of BlackRock’s and BlackRock Solutions’ tools and businesses and will require him/her to work closely with internal and external clients
Qualifications / Requirements:
• Solid experience working with metadata catalogs and data quality framework is required
• Experience managing data working groups and data governance forums with business and executives a plus
• Hands on ability to work with datasets on different platform/formats using SQL/Python is desired.
• Experience building/understanding data architecture and evaluating alternatives for scalability is a plus
• Experience working with vendors providing reference data and building and delivering productive workflows is a plus
• Experience working with Snowflake on cloud is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Master and reference data management across multiple asset classes and asset resolution
• Minimum of 7 years of experience with large-scale data programs
• Ability to document detailed requirements and transpose them into data specifications and translate them to technical requirements
• Candidate must have superb communication skills to enable clear articulation, interpersonal skills and influence while working with internal and external clients.
• Candidate must possess and demonstrate working knowledge of financial markets and general knowledge of the entire investment landscape with solid grasp of current and future data trends and industry practices
• Candidate is expected to think critically about complex business challenges and possess strong problem solving skills in order to deliver multidisciplinary solutions.
• Candidate must have enthusiasm for, and comfort with, working in a high pressure and fast pace environment while maintaining quality and the integrity of investment data.
• Candidate must be able to work in both an entrepreneurial and team-oriented environment.
• Experience in Agile Development preferred with knowledge of technical tools such as SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebook, basic Unix commands, SQL, Tableau etc. is a plus.

About this Role
We are adding to our staff and looking for an Investment Operations Associate, with three plus years of experience, who is bright and articulate and has a sense of humor. Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

About this Role
We are adding to our staff and looking for an Investment Operations Associate, with three plus years of experience, who is bright and articulate and has a sense of humor. Ideal candidates must have excellent problem-solving skills, a high degree of attention to detail, and strong organizational and analytical skills. Key Responsibilities
