Day shift
We’re looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our BoatU.S. Editorial Team, and help build the best boating magazine in the country! Our editors work with top marine authors and experts on articles, videos, and social media, to create BoatU.S. Magazine, which we send out to our 700,000 boat-owning readers five times a year, along with exclusive content in eNewsletters.
The position will include:
• Working directly with the editorial director, our contributing editors and authors to schedule incoming articles and inquiries
• Managing the maintenance and building of our article files
• Handling all contracts, correspondence, payment approvals, and payments for our authors, photographers, and illustrators
• Attending and working boat shows as needed
• Maintaining our databases of articles (published and pending) and payments
Applicants must have the following skills or experience:
Requirements:
• A proven passion for boating
• A strong knowledge of boats and boat handling
• A Bachelor's degree with strong command of English grammar, along with writing and proofing skills
• Meticulous organization skills and the ability to prioritize work to meet publishing deadlines
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with a variety of correspondence
• Proven ability to work independently and efficiently
Preferred Skillsets:
• Video editing
• Social media
• Writing about boating and boats, fishing
