Are you looking for a new opportunity to train as a Nursing Assistant (NAR) or a chance to share your NAR skills working on a service-oriented team? Do the people who know you best describe you as reliable, dependable, and trustworthy? Cuyuna Regional Medical Center is looking for a compassionate, empathetic, naturally positive individual to either join our care center team as an NAR or join us to train for the role. Nursing Assistants provide residents direct care and support under the guidance of the licensed nurse. The ideal candidate is passionate about caring for others and understands that our dedicated team places care center residents at the center of what we do every day.

Qualifications:
• Capable of completing the free state approved hybrid OnTrack Nursing Assistant Training Program through 35 hours of online curriculum, 24 hours of hands-on skills training, and 16 hours of clinical experience (75 hours total) within four months from the date of employment

OR
• Active certification with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry or ability to prove successful completion of an approved nursing assistant training program and competency evaluation
• Able to attend 12 hours of training each year

Special Skills:
• Works collaboratively within a team to deliver individualized patient-centered care
• Uses effective interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with both residents and coworkers
• Promotes a positive quality of life for residents by providing supportive social conditions beneficial for their mental health
• Values person-centered care as a purposeful element of rewarding work

Specific Responsibilities & Skills:
• Protects and promotes each resident’s rights to dignity, privacy, and self-determination when following their individualized care plans
• Applies knowledge of infection prevention practices and proper procedures when providing care to residents
• Reports changes in resident condition to the licensed nurse
• Assists residents with activities of daily living: dressing, grooming, bathing, meals, and mobility assistance
• Ensures physical environment is free of safety hazards and follows proper safety procedures throughout the work day
• Performs other duties based on role as needs arise
