The GPP at Broad is a worldwide leader in developing and applying technologies for the discovery of gene function.

The Project Coordinator will work within an important area of GPP as a liaison between the Platform and our many collaborators. They will work to field reagent and service requests that the GPP specializes in producing and providing, and will therefore become intimately familiar with many workflows. Specifically, this person will be responsible for receiving the initial request, generating a quote, tracking the progress of the request with various team leads and lab members, ensuring that the requests are progressing within timeline and budget, and delivering the end product to the collaborator. The Project Coordinator’s role is critical to the success of the functional genomics projects being undertaken by the Broad community.

Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for initiating the generation of the product through quoting, tracking the progress of multiple products, managing priorities, communicating appropriate information to both internal teams and collaborators, and delivering end products to collaborators that are both local and international.
• Field incoming questions pertaining to the product or workflow from collaborators and triage as needed to other appropriate members of the Platform.
• Grow to learn many of the workflows and products generated by the Platform and integrate into them over time with various other team leads.
• Work with team leads, staff scientists, and the software engineering team, to improve the end product or workflows on a regular basis, and assist in the experimental logistics.
• Adapt well to the ever-changing platform needs in workflows, projects, and staffing structure.
• With time, train junior members of the team.
• Keep documentation and SOPs up-to-date with current practices.
• Employ existing metrics tracking systems for yearly reporting.
• Adjust cost models on a yearly basis.

Minimum Qualifications
• BS or BA in Science with 1-2 years of related experience.
• Familiarity or experience with molecular biology techniques, preferably in a research laboratory.
• Familiarity or experience with project management or tracking.
• Must have strong time management, including the ability to respond to shifting priorities.
• Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to manage a product through multiple teams.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and external contacts.
